I have been in the educational profession for 20 years as a teacher and administrator at the secondary level. My three college degrees were earned in North Dakota, Texas, and Missouri...and I have been a teacher or administrator in all three states as well. My specialities are in Mathematics and Social Studies. I have had experience in inner-city schools, suburban schools, and rural schools...and found each setting to have its own set of advantages and challenges. I became frustrated with the 52% of new teachers who do not make it five years in our great profession, and have decided to do something about it! I founded newteacherhelp.com in 2009, and spend my spare time writing articles, mentoring, and speaking to student teachers and new teachers at colleges and school districts in the Midwest.
I present staff development sessions to new teachers and student teachers at colleges and school districts throughout the Midwest.
Many novice teachers are afraid to ask their mentor or administrator for help, for fear of looking dumb. I have made myself available to new teachers, and they contact me with questions, observations, or requests for support. My website has hundreds of pages of free content, and I also have several ebooks available for purchase to help teachers survive their first years of teaching. It is my belief that new teachers should learn from MY mistakes...not make their own mistakes.
Teachers who are interested in learning more about me should log on to my website http://www.newteacherhelp.com to download my free ebooks, and browse the numerous pages of free content on the site. If you have any questions about teaching and learning...I am always available at newteacherhelp@yahoo.com
