I think its fair to say that the mobile fitness approach is almost the perfect ‘area’ for me to be focused – you see the majority of my life has been spent as a bit of a traveler or a nomad and the whole idea of being able to ‘workout anywhere’ on my terms, in my time and when I want is, to me, the perfect fitness solution…
Here’s a bit about me so you know who I am. again, I really appreciate you coming here and can’t wait to help you.
A Brief History…
Well I’ve been involved in fitness since the age of 17. I first started with a small mail order course that showed small stick men doing all sorts of exercises – from bench presses to squats. Interestingly, that manual was probably better than a whole lot of the stuff you find online today. It focused on what worked. Surprise!
I was hooked. I jumped into the Health & Leisure industry in England and got paid as I got trained. Companies sent me on expensive course so I could learn and progress. For a 17 year old it was cool! And I traveled around The UK working in various places, training people to lose fat and get in great shape and obviously, I was really enjoying life…
A Desire To Be Mobile!
But I’d always had a desire to travel and as soon as I could I took what I knew and headed away from England and out to any Country I could afford a plane ticket to (or other transport). I met great people, saw amazing things and learnt more about fitness than I ever could have back home.
So many new techniques and ideas were out there and so many smart and intelligent people were ready to share them. And remember, this was when the Internet was only just beginning. You had to actually ‘go’ to places and not just stare at nice pictures online… I loved every minute.
Europe, Australasia, Asia, North & South America and more were my playground, I’d soak up the lifestyle and cultures, train and learn in the first gym I could find in each place, make great friends, then allow my ‘wanderlust’ to propel me to the next destination once I’d earned enough money to pay for a ticket.
Life was amazing. And I’d still be doing it today if I’d not met the love of my life on a small beach in Thailand and grabbed my backpack, $150 that was all I had in my pocket and jumped on a plane to America…
Well that’s the brief version, there’s tons more but to sum it all up I was (am) a traveler. A Traveler with a lifelong passion for fitness training – and a Certified Fitness Trainer who didn’t just talk a good fight, but actually got my hands dirty in health clubs, private gyms, commercial leisure centers and health spas in countries all over the world.
I still do it as much as possible today with busy bootcamps and private training in my new home of Colorado – but now I take all the things I’ve learnt over 15 or so years around the world and teach my clients, classes, bootcamps and so on exactly how to transform their bodies the right and quickest way
I use what I know works. But I’m always open to learning new techniques and systems. And still meet great people and very smart fitness experts who I learn from daily.
The thing is a lot of what we see now, with easy access online to a world of fitness ideas, is just ‘fads’ or junk and basically worthless. We can get bogged down with all the latest crazes sweeping the internet: the diets, the pills, the new miracle machines etc. But the good thing is the Internet allows people a voice and I hope that those who are interested in learning what works take time to listen to me.
You need to work with the fundamentals: The systems and concepts proven to work. A selection of new and tested ideas really help this industry, but I still use – and so do many other smart men and women – the concepts I was taught by very intelligent trainees when I was first learning.
Essentially I aim to save my clients, friends and readers TIME and I want everybody to be able to use what I teach, on the go on their mobile devices to really put results and control fully into their hands. I want them all to know and understand the right way to train and easily decipher the misleading ‘fluff’ with my help so they continue to make gains and get results wherever they want to train.
So here, at Tristan Lewis Fitness I’ll be sharing for the best, newest fitness systems, workouts, news and ideologies that will allow us all to really take command of our fitness and health goals.
I’ve learnt from experience in many Countries around the world and for over 15 years. So I hope that’s good enough for you and I look forward to helping you and seeing you reach your goals…
I’ll even share more travel stories along the way…both fitness and non-fitness!
Because we all need a change of pace sometimes.
