You have no doubt heard of the “law of attraction.” Literally millions of people are trying to attract to themselves things they want, especially greater financial prosperity.
The books that teach these concepts have been a phenomenal publishing success, but that some are concluding isn’t perhaps of much value when it comes to living in the power of now, you may be wondering why you haven’t yet manifested in your own life the things you would like to manifest.
A reader of my daily blogs writes, “I have been reading and practicing some of the teachings of the law of attraction and have found that focusing on changing my thoughts had become another form of resistance, not accepting this moment as it is.”
At the heart of the this message is the simple truth of the power of now, which has everything to do with present moment awareness, whereas for many the “law of attraction” is oriented to the future.
When we live in present moment awareness, we have no resistance to what is unfolding in our life right now.
We aren’t longing for tomorrow and we don’t hanker after things we don’t at this time possess, let alone play mental games of telling ourselves we actually "do" have these things when we clearly don't.
The now is about contentment with simply being.
It isn’t about making things happen, changing our life, or improving our circumstances by focusing on how we can attract people, things, and situations to us, which is all about doing instead of being.
Now is sufficient in itself, once we drop all resistance and are truly in the present moment.
That's because the present moment is packed with power.
All thought of the future as something that will be “better” than now then evaporates. There is no more struggle, no more attempting to “fix” our life, no more agonizing to “get there” (wherever “there” is supposed to be), just an abiding peace suffused with divine consciousness, which is the creative source of all that exists.
Remarkable things can then happen. Not because we attempt to make them happen, or struggle to get them to happen, but because we have learned to flow in the power of now.
So instead of trying to make a “law of attraction” work for us, which is something the mental plane of our existence loves to get into, by just being present we find ourselves becoming supremely attractive.
Of course books teaching the "law of attraction" will be hugely successful. The mind can’t wait to get going on the idea that thought can change our life, make it better than it is right now.
Become present by simply relaxing into what is, and then whatever is in your best interest—which is often very different from what the mind thinks is in your best interest—can flow to you spontaneously, without wishing or hoping or longing.
Each now moment turns out to be sufficient in itself, full of peace, joy, and love in abundance.
