Reflection:Looking back. There are moments in your journey when looking back can help you to move forward. Seeing what hurdles you encountered before and how you handled them can help you to make a decision when something similar comes up.
I recently came across this situation and almost made the same mistake twice. Luckily for me, I practice the law of attraction. This means I take time to meditate and visualize before I move forward in any direction. I have also learned the beauty of reflection.
The beauty of reflection allows me to look backward into past decisions and analysis them. I am able to learn from them and assess whether the outcome was beneficial or not. So I found myself in front of an opportunity that was almost the same as a previous one a few years back. The opportunity sounded great and there was a huge ROI potential so I started to consider it.
But reflection played a memory back to me that I had forgot. It was like watching a movie. In this movie I was the star but I was not a super star. I looked back and seen how the great opportunity of the past quickly turned into a liability. I talk about it in the book, How to Tame Your Ego and Fuel Your Ambition.- -The gift of looking back, of visualizing, of meditation and of reflection saved me from repeating history.
Reflection helped me to confidently pass on the opportunity without the feeling of regret. I felt a comfort in not taking that option. In not allowing this new road to distract me from my current journey. This is the size of impact reflection has. It is something I try to consciously use to enable me to see the pro’s and con’s of each opportunity.
There are many lessons in your past story that will help you create the future you want. These lessons will also help you break the cycle of repetition. You can only move forward when you break the cycle and travel in a direction that is unknown. It is how we are able to get out of our comfort zone. Part of our journey in creating the life we want to live is learning how to slow down in as the speed of life is driving you ahead.

Reflection is a powerful tool that should be in your tool box.It is something you should visit often. To create a new future you have to stop repeating the past. Our memory is selective. We only want to remember the great parts of the journey but if we can connect with the whole memory we can break the cycle and build the best future for us.
As I watched the movie in my mind I could see how this opportunity would not be in my best interest. I could gain money but it would not be in harmony with the life I wanted to live. I would also have to give up a certain quality of life to gain the money. My quality of life is far more valuable than money. But without the gift of reflection I wouldn’t have seen this. All I would have seen is the ROI. I would be back in the same story as the past.
This is why it is very important to learn how to reflect.
Use this gift that the universe has given you. Meditate, visualize, reflect and build you inner strength so you can live the life that you deserve. Prepare to meet your future self. Your future life. You 5.0
