The silk industry in India passes through fierce challenges with the increasing imports of silk from china into the country & on the other hand the expanding gap between the demand & supply for the perfect quality silk for the domestic & export consumption. The Managers in the country and the “Central Silk Board” which is the apex controlling unit for silk in India in co-ordination with the states producing silk taking the suitable measures to meet the challenges successfully in both the short & long term.
Caring the drape:
• Maintain your silk saree with refolding them in every 3 months to avoid tear.
• Keep the saree in a cold place & cover it in a thin clean muslin cloth to keep it dry.
• Fold your saree in such a way that the zari is not damaged. Let the zari part be faced inwards to protect the sheen.
• Don’t wash the sarees frequently as it is usually worn for 3 or 4 hours. Just getting it aired in the house is enough.
• The saree can be dry cleaned or washed with a mild soap.
• Make sure it is stain free.
