Many years ago before the introduction of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology for skin lifting, ablative laser or chemical peel were used but without much success.
HOW DOES HIFU WORK?
Using non-surgical method to lift and tighten sagging skin, HIFU in Singapore is one of the most effective and popular treatments for skin lifting in recent years. It does not damage the skin. Instead, it creates selective thermal coagulative zones by targeting the subcutaneous layer and Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS) layer to improve skin laxity.
By protecting the skin surface, HIFU penetrates the deeper SMAS layers to deliver constant temperature of about 60 to 70 degrees Celsius to induce cellular damage in the target area. HIFU works by generating thermal energy at maximal focal point to target the deep adipose tissue and muscles.
The treatment kick starts the process of thermal coagulation to the SMAS, fascia, deep dermis, and subcutaneous fibrous tissues. The HIFU treatment causes collagen contraction and remodeling as targeted heat was applied on the skin. Over the next few months after the treatment, skin tightening occurs gradually and a gradual face lifting effect can be seen.
DOUBLO HIFU TREATMENT: EFFECTIVE SKIN LIFTING AND REJUVENATION
Doublo is a 2nd generation system that is ideal to rejuvenate the skin and tighten loose skin. The Doublo machine is a HIFU skin tightening and skin lifting treatment that uses ultrasonic waves to lift and tighten the skin non-invasively.
Doublo is unique because it offers dual layer treatment.
At a depth of 3.0mm, neocollagenesis and neoelastogenesis are activated by inducing thermal effect. It stimulates collagen remodeling to tighten the skin and treat deep-set wrinkles and fine lines on the face.
When the treatment at the depth of 3.0mm is done, the doctor uses another transducer to further reduce the fat layer and induce contraction of the SMAS layer for a visible lifting and contouring effect. At 4.5mm, HIFU treatment is able to effectively destroy subcutaneous fat, which is similar to the liposculpting concept to improve the outline of the face.
The biggest difference between HIFU and other laser or light-based therapies is that it is effective for skin rejuvenation even on dark skin. Patients with dark skin traditionally have difficulties in undergoing light-based treatments without any side effects. Furthermore, HIFU has an effect on the muscle, fat, and dermis at the same time, and well-tolerated by patients.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULT?
Optimal results are seen about 10 to 13 weeks after the treatment because collagen remodeling takes about that period of time to develop naturally in the body. The dermis will also thicken, creating a younger-looking, tighter skin by reducing the appearance of deep set wrinkles on the face.
Only one session is required to see visible skin lifting and contouring results which can last for up to one year.
Unlike Sihouette Soft Thread Lift, HIFU skin lifting treatment does not have immediate, dramatic results because the treatment stimulates your body to produce collagen – naturally.
WHO IS A SUITABLE CANDIDATE?
The lifting and tightening result is more pronounced in older people with moderate skin laxity and fat on the face.
Doublo skin lifting treatment is also suitable for people under the age of 40 who wish to take preventive measures to stimulate collagen production in the skin and strengthen the dermis to delay the onset of aging.
