In the second year of BMS (SYBMS), you must mandatorily select your major and minor electives in Semester III and future semesters. A major elective covers the basics and core subjects of the specialization you will pursue. A minor elective covers subjects related to the core subjects in the major elective. Choosing these electives will determine the type of career you will experience after graduation.
You can choose them from offered specializations such as Finance, Marketing or HR. Based on your choice of specialization, you will learn about different electives each semester until the end of the course.

Semester III
1. Fundamentals of Consumer Behavior (Major)
In this elective, you will learn the fundamental theories for understanding customer behaviour. These theories will explain to you the decision process that goes behind a consumer’s evaluation and purchase of a product. The theories take into consideration the resources available to consumers, such as time, money, effort, etc. Thus, it will give you an idea of the type of products that will succeed in the market.
The elective also explains the psychological aspects of consumer behaviour, such as needs & motivation, risk perception, attitude towards the product’s brand, etc. The application of this study is made in the formulation of marketing plans and sales presentation.
2. Advertising and Digital Marketing (Minor)
Advertising and digital marketing are the tools used to market a product to the public. Hence, this elective covers the different types of traditional or modern advertising, while also providing a fundamental understanding of social media and its various strategies.
Semester IV
1. Sales and Distribution Management (Major)
Sales gives you quantifiable results regarding the performance of a product’s marketing campaign. Hence, the purpose of this elective is to brief you about the important facets of Sales. It covers the practical application of sales techniques used to optimize a firm’s sales operations. Furthermore, the elective also covers concepts of sales management such as

2. Fundamentals of Retail Management (Minor)
