“In the healthy condition of man…rules with unbounded sway, and retains all the parts of the organism in admirable, harmonious, vital operation, as regards both sensations and functions, so that our indwelling, reason-gifted mind can freely employ this living healthy instrument for the higher purpose of our existence”
This phrase was written in 1810 by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann who discovered and developed the universal principles of homeopathy.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as a state of complete physical and social wellbeing and not merely an absence of disease or infirmity.
This is actually a departure from today’s medical model that is focused on the elimination of body discomfort rather than on the well-being of an individual as a whole. A person’s mental/emotional state is not part of the diagnosis, only the discovery of a physiological misfunctioning is relevant which can then be interfered with medication in order to block uncomfortable symptoms.
The current medical model, therefore, measures health by the absence of physical disease. For example, in cases of arthritis; broadly speaking inflammation of the joints, the patient can be given a steroid medication to eliminate the symptoms. The severe degradation of the joints that follows; the actual worsening of the condition is rationalized with a shrug of the shoulder as a quid pro quo for lack of pain.
Late on, the weight gain is also be justified as part of the deal for less pain. Now, take my mother’s example of Rheumatoid arthritis. Don’t think because she is my mother that she is open to homeopathy. The fact is, she suffered for years all the way to not being able to hold her fork. I took her rigidity mental and physical as well as a “mental symptom” she had mentioned to me several years before. That she talks to her deceased father and my father often in her dreams. Coming from her, an irreverent atheist, I felt that was a very individualizing feature.
The remedy I gave her was calcarea silicata which removed her arthritis completely… to this day. The same can be done for all illnesses. I apply the same individualizing process to treat autism. Every case has its individualizing “symptoms”, one just needs to listen to the parents and ask questions well enough to find them.
Health is intangible, with ebbs and flows according to many parameters such as what is going on in life, genetic predisposition, in children cases the state of the mother during delivery and pregnancy are very important. You would be surprised for example how many times during a delivery a fetus does not descend and then that child after being delivered by c-section actually has fear of going downstairs or cries when being lowered down in the crib. All three instances seemingly unrelated are actually a fear of downward motion!!! Health is a dynamic entity, all-encompassing of the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical parts.
Since one’s state of health is dynamic, it goes to follow that the effective method of treatment must also be dynamic. One dynamic system needs another dynamic system to help it in health and in overcoming the disease. What medicine is dynamic, therefore? Homeopathy, of course! Thus health, disease, and cure all operate on the dynamic plane…like a force; so the cure must be dynamic, as well.
How does homeopathy work?
Homeopathy is the longest established “alternative” system of medicine and is used by over 500 million people worldwide. It follows the concept of minute doses of substances used to stimulate the innate healing capacities of the body. The dosage concept of the infinitesimally small dose is one of the basic principles of homeopathy. Small doses of drugs encourage life activity; homeopathic remedies. Large doses impede life activity; as in suppression of symptoms with medication.
And very large doses destroy; poison life activity as in overdosing.
Homeopathy is at the opposite end of the current allopathic system of medicine that prescribes based on the principle of “contraries” – to oppose a pathological process taking place in a patient’s body as described earlier with the example of steroids for arthritis. Homeopathy works WITH the patient’s dynamic expression to cancel the illness out as calcarean silicate did for my mother.
Homeopathy comes from the Greek words homeo and pathos, which when broken down mean “similar suffering”. Homeopathy does not suppress a patient’s symptoms, it literally dynamically cancels the illness.
How the “DIS-EASE” expresses itself uniquely in a patient is what a Homeopath looks for?. My mother talking to my deceased father was in her a peculiar symptom that was distinctive most particularly because she is such an atheist. As such it was peculiar. It would not have been so important in a religious individual who believes in the afterlife. In my mother’s, it was clearly dissonant. That and other features made the remedy I chose perfectly dynamically resonant to her case. Homeopathy is individualized medicine, each patient receives a specific homeopathic medicine that is chosen for them.
Homeopathic medicines are safe, effective for two reasons. They are used in synergy with the patient and in infinitesimal small doses that have now been called nano-medicines (with many scientific research studies to back their effectiveness). They do not interfere with other therapies and are affordable. They are never tested on animals, are non-addictive. They mainly made from plant, animal and mineral; there are over 8000 remedies that one can choose from at this time! I use Homeopathy for Autism to affect a child's life towards positivity.
Homeopathy is regaining popularity worldwide. I hope this short piece helps you understand this amazing medicine a little bit more. If you feel uncertain, make no mistake about it, you are not alone. As I mentioned earlier it is radically different from allopathic medicine and as such it challenges beliefs. That said, beliefs are most often wrong. What matters is effectiveness and that for sure is what makes homeopathy the most widely used and enduring medicine in the last 200 years.
