We can define the world in two ways: the world in a broader sense and the world around us (specific for each person). In the wider world, we often hear in the news about earthquakes, floods, corona virus and other natural calamities, where thousands of innocent people lose their lives. Here, our confused mind tends to ask, “who is the doer, doing all this damage in the world, and complicating the matters thus?”
Not finding adequate answers, many of us end up blaming God for creating chaos in the world. But if God had been the doer of such disasters, He would be considered as the biggest sinner, isn’t it? However, God is worshipped as the embodiment of love. He does not make people suffer.
Yes, by blaming God, we definitely are committing a grave error, and thereby binding ourselves further with the complicated world, says the Enlightened One.
Next, in the news, we also see that there is so much of corruption, murder, theft, terrorism, etc. happening all around the world. In each of these cases, there are fingers pointed at several people, following which we tap every source of knowledge to ascertain who the doer of the crime is. But when the law courts set those culprits free, finding them to be non-guilty, our puzzled intellect cries out, “How can this be called justice?”
Not finding adequate answers, some of us even blame Nature, for allowing severe injustice to prevail in the world. But Nature is not a person on whom someone would have an authoritative control and bribe it. Nature has never stepped outside the realm of justice.
Yes, by blaming Nature, we definitely are complicating our future, and thereby entangling ourselves further in the bind of this complicated world, says the Enlightened One.
Now, in specific terms, our world consists of the people and places that we interact with. When we are born, we do not know our name and relations. People around us are the source of knowledge for us, who teach us, ‘Your name is John (please insert your name here), She is your Mom, He is your father’, and so on. When we grow, we get into many relationships, and based on our achievements, we believe that, ‘I am her husband, I am his father, I am an Engineer’, and so on. But when our expectations are not fulfilled and our achievements are not recognized, our heart sobs, “Why did this happen to me?”
Not finding adequate answers, we do not hesitate in blaming and accusing our own relations. But they are only instrumental in the unfolding of our karma. When it is our own karmic account, what can the other person do?
Yes, by blaming others, we are definitely increasing the burden of our karma (our mistakes), and thereby extending our stay in this complicated world, says the Enlightened One.
Thus, Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan, an Enlightened being, asks,
Until you realize who you really are, everything proves to be wrong and incorrect. Even before you purchased a watch, did you not inquire about its make, quality, price, warranty, etc.? Then, is it not ironic that you have not made inquiries about your own Self yet?
Who are you? You have no knowledge about your true identity, about where you come from and where you are headed to. You know none of these things. When you are not knowing the answer to this one vital question, “Who am I”, you complicate your life by actively participating in this relative world. In this state of ignorance, you further complicate your life by getting married, having a family, etc. This is how confusion and puzzles arise in the relative world.
Even when you fall asleep at night, you do so as ‘John’ (you may insert your name here). All night long, this wrong belief reinforces itself, and becomes stronger and stronger. Only when you realize the answer to the question “Who am I?” does your wrong belief stop. It is because of this wrong belief that you have been wandering from one life to another.
You do not know your true identity, and furthermore you impress upon yourself, the belief of that which you are not. You have imposed this wrong belief on your real Self. In addition, you have also accepted the notion of, “I am John” and as a result, have behaved accordingly. This false accusation is a blunder. This blunder is the root cause of all suffering. This suffering comes in the form of inner restlessness, misery, and discontentment. At the moment, you have so many worries caused by your false belief of, ‘I am John.’ This false imposition on the Self is ignorance, and ignorance brings forth suffering.
So, will you not have to investigate who you really are? For how long can you go on being in the dark, unaware of your real Self? Do you not think it is ignorance to not investigate your true identity?”
Soul Is Knowledge
Soul is the only element in this Universe that has the property to know. The Soul is knowledge and knowledge is light. The Soul is in the form of light that needs no origin or support. Hence, it is the ultimate source of knowledge.
Soul is what we really are
Soul is our real Self. But it is currently covered with layers of ignorance. Ignorance means unawareness of our true identity. Owing to ignorance, we mistakenly believe the body or the name given to body (eg. John) to be the Self.
Our ignorance of the real Self is the reason for all the complications in our world
The Enlightened One illustrates:
“Say, there is pitch darkness in your home. How will you feel? You will have clashes with chairs, tables, etc. And what will happen if you have full light in your room? If you have full light, there will not be any clash, there will not be any suffering, there will not be any worries, no doubts, no stress! With full light, you feel happiness and your close relatives also will feel happiness. This is what we experience in the light of the Soul.”
When we attain Gnan (Self-Realization) from the Gnani Purush (the Enlightened One), ignorance is lifted. In Akram Vignan, through the scientific experiment of separation of ‘I’ and ‘My’, Gnani Purush breaks the layers of ignorance and the direct light of the Soul starts. And through that direct light, we get to experience our Soul.
Thereafter, Gnani Purush guides us further on the principles that we ought to follow so that this direct light of the Soul increases and enhances day after day, and more and more coverings over the Soul get uncovered. When all the coverings (of karma) drop off the Soul, we break-free from the vicious cycle of wandering in this world. The effulgence of the Absolute Soul (without any covering) illuminates the entire Universe as we quit this world forever!
Hence, while the Soul is the ultimate source of knowledge, the Living Gnani Purush who makes us experience our Soul and helps our Soul break-free from the shackles that have kept us bound in this world, is indeed the ultimate source that we want to reach for our liberation!!!
