SSR have been producing awesome Rims and rims in Japan for some time under the name Speed Star Wheel and have recently joined forces with the Tanabe organization. The SSR range has reduced to supply only a few choice Rims to keep quality up and concentrate on the Rims that are the stronger and stable. In a specialized process perfected by Alumax, a leading aluminum manufacturer, uniquely structured alloy billets are heated to a semi-solid state (the consistency of soft butter) and molded in a specifically engineered forging press. The positive aspects of this process found applications in the aircraft and automotive sectors. Through an exclusive contract with Alumax, SSR conducted additional research and development and built their wheel manufacturing plant in Japan to produce alloy Rims using Semi-Solid Forging (SSF) technology. They further developed SSF technology, were granted a patent, and are the first and only SSF wheel manufacturer in the world today producing Semi-Solid Forged alloy Rims. This ultra high tech forging technology creates a very strong and lightweight wheel ideal for street or track.

SSR Professor MS1 R Wheel 15x5.5 4x100: The professor MS1 R is a 3 piece wheel made using SSR’s process. The three piece wheel is made up of an outer rim, inner rim, and center disc which allows SSR to offer wide range of offsets and ensures proper fitment specific to your vehicle. The inner rim of the wheel is heat treated for strength, using the HTM (Heat Treatment Manufacture) process which allows for the use of a thinner material to save weight. With weight and high strength in mind, each section of the wheel is engineered using separate grades and thickness of aluminum according to its purpose. SSR's racing heritage and manufacturing innovations have allowed the creation of a 3 piece wheel that is both super lightweight and high in strength. This wheel is available in Black, Gray Silver, Gold, Flat Black, and SBC (Super Black Coat). Also, this wheel is available in many offsets and disk options (Super Low and Normal).
