Have you either been paid well but not enjoyed your work or loved what you were doing but not received the flow of abundance? Either scenario is resisting the flow of abundance.
The cornerstone of abundance is when we are being love and doing what we love.
Abundance flows when we feel joyful, secure and truly fulfilled from the inside out. It flows easily when:
You feel empowered and know your true self worth and value
You have a vision for your life purpose and are aligned with who you are being and what you are doing.
Your work, your self-expression is authentic and you can speak your truth to others.
When we are in a state of joy, we are aligned with allowing in what we want. Ideas and opportunities (the source of abundance) flow to you with love and prosperity.
When we let go and focus on being in that state of love and joy, whatever we are doing, the doors start to open up. The evidence shows up in tangible ways.
But our mind wants to focus on what is not working. Let me give you an example of how shifting your perception can allow in what you want.
Many years ago, when I was working in a job where I was speaking to dozens of irate customers every day, I felt stressed out and kept thinking, “Why me? This is so awful.” I was ready to quit and considered taking a different job that paid less and had a longer commute just to escape what I was experiencing.
Then I heard this message from Wayne Dyer, “You take yourself with you wherever you go.”
I made a decision to focus less on myself and focus more on serving others. Rather than focus on what I didn’t want, I focused on what I appreciated in my life right now. My job paid well, I had underground parking, even though I was on call, I no longer had to work night shifts and weekends.
One day an irate client called and every solution offered to resolve her issue was not satisfactory. I tried to remain present but a part of me wanted to hang up on her so I didn’t have to listen to her incessant complaining and angry tone.
I chose in that moment not to listen to her but to focus on sending her love. This sounds crazy but I was at my wits end and didn’t know what else to do.
While she was talking to me on the telephone I closed my eyes and in my mind (not aloud) I repeated the words, “love, love, love…” It was shortly after that, the client said, “You know what, you are the first person who has listened to me.”
Without wanting anything else she said goodbye and hung up. I sat there dumbfounded that by sending her love and not putting my attention on her complaints, she felt heard and respected. The energy of love dissolved her resistance and her feeling of needing something.
I went through my days reminded of that incident and practiced being kinder and more loving. Within two months my boss offered me a job that had never existed before, and was the answer to what I was wishing for months ago.
Once you remain appreciative of what you have, being in a state of love and compassion for others and yourself, your world shifts. What you want flows to you without force, without striving, without struggle.
Love and abundance is our natural state. For now, even if your job has you not doing what you love, you can “be love” at any time, anywhere. That will allow what you really want to flow to you.
