Excuses That Keep You From Love – too much baggage

Today’s topic for tapping is the myth that you have too much baggage for anyone to love you – so not true, yet if you believe it, then it is! So let’s bust that belief and embrace one that is more empowering for you.

Hi. I’m Cheri Valentine and I’m back to do some more tapping with you on excuses that keep you from love. Yesterday we tapped on the myth that I’m too independent to find love. Today, I thought we would tap on a really big one – “I have too much family baggage.”

I can’t tell you how many of my clients come to me and think there’s just too much baggage in their life to really let love in and to be able to have a relationship that would work for them. Of course my belief that we can have anything we want, – we just need to know what that is and then clear away the beliefs that are getting in the way. So, let’s do that – Let’s tap on that belief.

Karate Chop:

So, even though I don’t think I can have love (again, repeat after me when I pause). So, even though I don’t think I can have love because I have too much baggage I choose to accept myself anyway.

Even though I don’t think I can find love because I have way too much family baggage I choose to accept the situation.

Even though my belief that I have too much family baggage is keeping me from love I choose to accept myself and believe that maybe it’s not true.

I have too much baggage. :

There’s just too much baggage in my life.
I’ve been divorced.
I have children.
My life is a mess.
I don’t get along with my ex.
There’s just too much going on in my life.
There’s no way I could find love.
There’s just no room for it. Although I want it.

I’d love to have a man in my life.
I’d love to have a woman in my life.
I’d love to have a partner to work all this through.
But who would possibly want to do that? I don’t even want to do that.
I don’t even like dealing with it.
I don’t really like the mess that my life is so how could anybody else?
Nobody’s life could be as messy as mine.
I’m the only person in the world who’s ever been divorced.
I’m the only person in the world who has children from that previous marriage.
So who would want to deal with that?

Maybe if I could see my life differently I could change it.
Maybe it’s not as much of a mess as I think. Maybe it’s just normal.
I’m sure I’m not the only person who’s divorced.
As a matter of fact I know that. Half the marriages end in divorce.
There’s a lot of sympathetic people out there understanding that.
And many of those marriages ended and there were children involved.

I’d like to have love in my life.
I’d like a partner.
And I’d like my life to be acceptable.
I need to accept it first.
And maybe the parts of my life that I think are a mess I can clean out.
I can do something about it.
And maybe I’ll realize too that not all of it is a mess.
And I’ll accept those parts.
And once I do others will be able to accept them to.
But first I must. It starts with me.

So there are parts of my life that I’m not thrilled with.
That I really wouldn’t want to bring anybody else into.
I’m willing to fix those.
I’m willing to put attention, positive attention, in the areas of my life that I want to improve.
I want to do this for me.
I want to do this because it’s the right thing to do for me.
It’s also the right thing to do for the people in my life now.
I’m doing it from a place of love for myself and for those whom I care about.

Just knowing that I have a choice and that I can change my attitude,
change my perception, choose how I look at things is already making a difference.
I’ll get my life in order in a way that feels good to me while still being open to letting love in.
If I’m taking action. If I’m in the right frame of mind.
If I’m doing this with an open heart.
It would be so much easier with someone to love me and help me.
Not fix it. Not do it. But be with me.
Support me. And love me.
While I’m loving myself, supporting myself, and taking care of it.
