Scientists don't understand why Attention Deficit Disorderis increasing so quickly.
One reason may be that more and more people are living incongested, overcrowded situations.
A hundred years ago when most people lived on farms or insmall towns with a lot of rural space...ADD ADHD wasn'trecognized by the medical community.
However, there may be something to the constantstimulation of modern life.
With its quick pace and technology...like... automobiles, microwaves, cell phones and computers, these devices canover-stimulate and stress out those who suffer fromAttention Deficit Disorder.
Some scientists actually believe living in crowded citiescauses changes to the human brain...and ADD ADHD is theresult of those changes.
In any event, scientists DO know that there are moreinstances of Attention Deficit Disorder among people wholive in overcrowded apartment buildings with no access towide green areas or natural surroundings.
If possible, people with Attention Deficit Disorder shouldtry to live in areas with natural green spaces, trees, andwilderness areas. Not in crowded cities where they have todeal with traffic, congestion, Adult ADHD ADHDChild constant noise and commotion.
A team of researchers at the Human-Environment ResearchLaboratory at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign...is currently doing a lot of research about theeffect of nature on Attention Deficit Disorder.
"We knew from our own studies and those of otherscientists that in general, green is good...for ADD ADHDhowever, green is great," said Professor Frances E. Kuo, co-director of the laboratory.
Dr. Kuo and her team believe that there is something aboutbeing in nature that relaxes and renews the mind.
The paradox is that most people suffering from AttentionDeficit Disorder prefer the stimulation of city life.
My children and I all have one thing in common...We allhave Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD ADHD)... and we wereall able to Successfully cope with it...
