Remind yourself that you are in control and that you will not allow yourself to be controlled by your anxiety. Tell yourself, verbally, if necessary that there is actually nothing wrong and that you will get through this moment.
Work on relaxing your muscles. Begin with your feet and clench the muscles and then release them. Work your way gradually up your body; tightening and relaxing your muscles as you go until you reach your head. Repeat this exercise until you feel your anxiety dissipate.
Keep in mind that even if you are having an anxiety attack in public, remember that in most cases most other people will not realize what is going on. This can be used to your advantage to gain control of your anxiety. With time you can learn how to overcome anxiety attacks.
