How do we identify the mind in the formation of our reality?
Many people question whether such a thing exists, a place separate from the brain that would be identified as the mind. It is one of the greatest looming question marks, especially when it comes to the practical methods of our now developing brain sciences, in Neurology and Psychology. Does mind exist, or is it just the workings of the matter brain?
We live in an extremely materialistic age and have a need to identify things through physical activity, always classifying everything under a microscope, labeling it and putting it into order and systems. Anything that stretches outside of material productivity is instantly seen as fabricated and total nonsense. We constantly battle with eliminating anything that has a hint of creativity or fantasy. Through movies today we see this coming to the forefront even more, instead of creativity and movies of future, we prefer to watch drama and movies that link more to our physical struggles materialistically.
Most things surround our physical survival and materialistic goals, most often always concerning the obtaining of money in some way or another. It is true that we are living in a practical world. We need money for food, for a roof over our head and to buy things to enjoy through physical experience. There is no doubt that there is a level of material purpose in life. What happens when we obtain all that we need financially and physically? What then?
When things become financially stable, our lives settled physically, we start to turn inwardly within ourselves, looking at how we are individually and emotionally. We start to judge our own inner nature and the reason for our own purpose here in life. It might not even take physical stability to achieve this, but at some point in our lives most will reach this level of inward journeying.
A lot of people only start this journey later in their life when they are retired and have more time on their hands to think internally about their lives and how they experience their reality. It is at these stages that people start to question their own thinking patterns and they start to realize that they have an inner world far different than their outside physical experience. For many this is called the private self, or the inner world. It is a place inside everyone where they are the leading actor in the experience of their thoughts and participation in their life.
To know that the mind exists is the ultimate challenge in life. It is the point that we finally see ourselves for who we are inside and out. To know oneself, and to see oneself is the ultimate challenge, and a truly life changing experience, that will not only make a person realize how truly unique they are in the whole of creation, but also how real the experience of life is.
Most often we live within a sort of dream like reality, where each moment goes by without even a care or thought for the seconds ticking away. We are consumed by thoughts of scenarios and dramas, and all the battles we must face in life in order to succeed. Never are we taught the value of the mind, instead preferring only to utilize its productivity to worry and stress, concerned only in our image through the eyes of another, instead of through the realization of our own self.
It would not be surprising if most were consumed by silly thoughts, things that related to how they look physically, or how another person thinks of them. Maybe they have spent most of the day thinking about one topic, an experience that occurred in the past, turning over in their head like a broken record.
Why will she not talk to me?
Why did he do that?
Will he think I am beautiful?
Will she love me enough?
Will I be accepted?
How could they have done that to me?
I can not believe that.
Why did that happen?
Why me?
Stress, stress, stress
Drama, drama, drama
Worry, worry, worry
We are obsessed totally with image and self reflection outwardly, choosing to utilize our thoughts for issues surrounding drama and physical acceptance. This totally consumes our lives and every passing moment, not allowing any time for us to ponder on anything other than our materialistic values.
We choose individually to accept these thoughts as our own, and with every passing drama playing out in our head we become the main actors living a life filled and consumed with egotistical aims, that essentially lead to no real ends. It just turns into a constant need for more and more, an addiction to pain and suffering, to drama and struggling. If given a chance to change perception, anything other is then seen as boring and not stimulating enough for our emotional needs. Basically we are addicted to emotional drama and consumed by the feeling of helplessness that we no longer care for new experiences, but become overwhelmed instead by our constant addictive needs.
People start to question then if there really is the possibility to have a far more simple perception that can also give a person drive to live life. They no longer believe in total happiness and instead begin to accept pain and struggling as normality.
With all this in our heads, there is no time to ponder possibility. There is no room to think of life being lived in another way. How can one fit possibility in between worrying about the holiday next week and the drama they are having at work? They have no longer time to think, to ponder the ways of life, to question why they even choose to focus so much on these physical dramas and why they even occur. It is just normal, accepted and we all become robots to method and structure in life rather than allowing for free thinking and an opening up to new possibilities.
Practical life is really just that in a nut shell. It is a total physically focused life without the ability to move beyond into new realms of possibility. Most would question at this stage when reading this, what else is there? We live materially; we are here when we wake up everyday of our lives, what else is there other than physical reality? When a person is consumed by physical reality they do not see anything else as having possibility. They always think that they have a practical answer to everything when questioned, so therefore they ‘presume’ that they have rationalized everything right down to the core. Until they reach the ultimate pot hole…
Why am I here?
Why do I think?
What is the purpose of life?
They have no physical answers for these questions, instead opting to set it aside with sayings like:
You cannot know everything in life.
Life is a paradox.
Some things we will never know.
Some things are best not to know.
And for some….who cares!
Of course this way of viewing life is choice based. It is not going to affect anyone but the individual who chooses to see life in this way. They have to live by their own beliefs and if this is how they wish to see life, then it’s their own party. However it is not everyone’s party, and in all truth when it comes to perception in life, all of the above thoughts are only choice based and not at all the whole of possibility.
Physicality is ‘not’ the entirety of life. The mind is not the brain and life can be seen with much more depth than just surface value experiences. One might not be able to physically accept this as fact but they will be confronted with this everyday of their lives with every passing thought perceived to come from the workings of their brain. With every thought we contradict our own materialistic nature and it is where we have constant conflict when it comes to purpose and material physicality. Instead of asking ‘what is the purpose for life?’ we then need to ask:
What is the purpose to think?
You might be surprised to hear that the answer is not just to think about drama and materiality, but also to ‘realize’ that we are in creation and reality. The act of ‘realizing’ is not at all physical in nature. There would not be one person out there that could physically ascertain why we are conscious of our reality, so therefore there is a part of reality that we are not seeing as having also an important role to play.
Realization and consciousness sit outside of physical parameters, and even if someone were to think that they are creating the whole of reality in their own mind, they would still confront the fundamental nature of this question. Why do they think and realize that they are here? In this case, if they were to answer with, because I choose to do it, it would be totally inaccurate for the fact that without realization and the ability to think they would therefore not be able to choose.
Thought and realization of creation really does sit outside of physicality and it is the fundamental component that characterizes the mind. Not only are we then physical reality, but also non-physical as well.
What is then non-physical reality and how does a person accept such things as existing and as having any true basis?
The interesting thing about non-physical reality is that we accept it every day of our lives without even acknowledging that it exists. We just accept that the body moves in life without truly understanding how this could be possible. How does time formulate itself? With the use of a clock we can see time moving and we just accept that it does without the need to even reason why such things occur.
The mind is a fundamental core component of reality and it is the ‘force’ behind life. It has no material parameters that can be identified, yet it pushes life on in motivation and constant cycling. It pushes us to think and to create in life. It motivates the whole of our reality through the use of a component of reality that is not material but elemental in nature. It is ‘force’. It is a component of reality that can only be studied and given formulas for when comparing it with matter and the movement of physical reality. It cannot be seen for itself, but yet the effects of its interaction within matter can easily be seen even with the human eyes. Without it we would not even be motivated to even view or be conscious of our reality.
The mind exists within the core of all creation. It is our very soul and reason for our physical existence. Could you imagine how matter would be seen without the motivation of pressure and force behind it? It would not have reason to be ‘existence’. Existing means ‘motivated life’. To exist means to live, to be, to know that we are within it all, a part of it all.
To know where the mind sits within the whole of creation is to know that it is at the centre of physical reality itself. Every material formation in life has mind within it, split up through the effects of materiality and structure. It is the very essence of our creativity and the inspirational ideas that we have. In the most simple of ways it is the motivation behind our reason to think.
If a person wanted to understand the mind more and where it is playing a role in their lives, it could be observed once all material constructs were stripped away. Thinking about the construction of the human reality, if the physical body were taken away through the closing off of all the physical senses produced through the body, the mind would then be understood and seen for what it is. Take away sight, vision, hearing, taste and smell and physical sensation of the skin and body through the nervous system and brain. Also take away all the memories of these things. Take away the visuals in our brains, the words, the patterns of thought that we are taught growing up.
Most at this point would question if there is anything left there at all?
Yes there is something, there is inspiration, motivation, possibility, push, drive, passion and focus. It is likened to a sort of pressure feeling that does not link to the sensations of the body that we relate to with our emotions. It is an urge, a push feeling that is constantly sitting in the background, motivating the whole of our reality. This is the mind and it is the core fundamental component of reality along side matter itself. Creation itself is solid based purely on the fact that we are the formation from the combination of mind and matter and that we are existing ‘within’ it.
If we were to even believe that the mind does ‘not’ exist side by side with matter in the formation of creation itself, we would ultimately denying the motivation of the whole of our reality, leading us to the denial that we are even here at all. What ever way it is looked at, at every moment that we think, we are utilizing the mind in order to form our reality, even if we ‘choose’ to deny its existence.
