The necessary elements to wellbeing have to incorporate the four parts of the person. The mind, emotions, physical body, and the energy body or aura. The total being needs to achieve harmony between these four components to achieve continuous wellbeing and bliss. Bliss is a detached mood which emanates from inner peace and centeredness. How does one achieve this centeredness and inner peace? There are many pathways to achieving inner bliss and centeredness. The one which I use is based on the Buddhist tradition of mindfulness and detachment living life with passion and compassion for others. The mindfulness is based on continual focus on breathing rhythms, harmonizing our inhalation with a slight pause when full, and then a gentle exhalation with slight pause on empty. The ratio can be 6-3-6-3- or 7-1-7-1. The six or seven being the heartbeats time of inhalation and exhalation, and the 3-1 being the time of pause when holding breath full or empty.
This is the beginning attentiveness exercise of our continual practice. Mindfulness of our breathing keeps us in the present moment which is the only real moment. The past and future are creations of the mind, tempered by emotions energy habits and memories. The focus on the present through our breathing allows to feel 'one with all'. This is the main concept which assists us to achieve inner peace and bliss. The sense of feeling 'one with all' requires a openness to intuitive understanding of our place in the world, where the workings of our mind and the emotions are mediated by the soul. The connection to the soul is the second step.
The soul can be found through the heart-crown connection. The heart is the physical home of our passion and compassion. The crown is the connection between our body and the cosmic or astral reality. Both the heart and crown are mediated through the energy centers called 'chakras'. These energy wheels are connection devices between the physical and energy dimensions or realities. It is by becoming aware of this connection and nurturing it through daily meditations on the 'twin hearts', the heart and the crown, that the soul is contacted and that this inner connection between our 'body soul' and the 'cosmic body' is achieved.
The soul dimension of heart and crown realities is based on 'love'. Passion and compassion are simply manifestations of love. Love expressed and love felt.
Right thought, right speech, right action. Watering wholesome seeds of thought, speech and action assures the harvesting of peace and bliss. Observing unwholesome seeds of thought and ignoring them, nor allowing them to trigger a negative emotional speech or action response. Transforming indeterminate seeds of thought into wholesome expressions through speech and bodily action.
This is the basis for the next step to achieving inner peace and bliss.
Connecting our four bodies through the soul connection, observing and controlling our thoughts, speech and actions, and all the time remaining mindful of our breathing which is our connection between our soul and the divine reality.
When we are born our soul consciousness enters our physical body through our crown chakra with the first breath we take . This is called birth.
When we die our soul consciousness with our speech and action memories leaves our physical body through our crown chakras with the last breath we exhale. This is called 'death'.
Some people don't leave the physical plane through the crown chakra because they are blocked at the heart chakra. They have denied the belief and practice of passion and compassion, forgiveness, and gratitude. These are activities of the heart, and when denied during a lifetime, at the time of death the soul leaves the body through the solar plexus chakra and goes out of the physical body sideways onto the astral plane.
This place is called purgatory or hell. The 'Tibetan Book of the Living and the Dead' speaks of this reality place. It speaks of how the living can assist the dead to find freedom from this place and avoid reincarnation back onto the physical plane. The prayers which can be spoken for the dead person over 49 days assist the lost soul to find the light and choose 'The Way' to the astral plane reality.
