We have two dogs and they are street dogs we adopted. But I’m not sure who rescued who… I think our dogs give us much more love than we could ever give back in return.

New studies show that dogs would rather be with human beings than to be with other dogs. I find that very interesting, that dogs would rather be with us than to be with other dogs. That tells me they really do love and care about people with all their heart. And just petting a dog helps us to calm down, and have less stress, and lowers our blood pressure.
The first dogs were probably one of the descendants of the wolf. A wolf who was probably hungry and found that man had lots of food. So he was willing to take a chance and move closer to man in order to have food. Then those wolves became accustomed to human beings, and low and behold, they liked being around humans. And our descendants taught dogs to protect their children, protect their livestock, and to help in whenever way possible.
In the photo above is one of our dogs “Missy” and she just got back from the groomer and she’s looking pretty and sassy… and she knows it. Missy smiles all the time and she is eager to please my wife and I. What better companion could we have?
There are lots of true stories about dogs giving up their own life in order to save their masters. Ask many a police officer, army officer, drug enforcement officer and other people, and they will attest to the fact that dogs will put themselves in harm’s way in order to save a human life. I only know of one other species that would do that… and that’s the dolphin. Lots of human beings would not be willing to put themselves in harm’s way in order to save someone else.
I can’t remember a time in my life that I didn’t have dogs of one type of another. I remember when I was a little kid (we lived out in the country) sitting on the front steps eating a tomato and letting our dog “Poochie” have a nibble now and then. I would take a bit and he would take a bit, we were pals and inseparable. And dogs give us so much love, dogs really do care about people and it shows.
So in my book, without a doubt, dogs are a match made in heaven for human beings. Even the great psychic John Edwards talks about the fact that animals are there in heaven with us on the other side. And I know for sure, I will see “Poochie” once again.
Many Blessings to Everyone!
