And so then you go looking for another simple thing and something else stops you…
And you do not look at the ‘something else’…
NO… you go looking for another guru to follow…
Someone else with a course to sell at a price you think you can afford…
You speak of lack and being broke and this has been your story for a long, long time and yet again, you still refuse to look at the deeper causes of this…
Even when you earn a regular wage that most others would consider to be pretty good, you still find yourself feeling broke and in lack…
And you wonder why you cannot seem to get it together!
You catch a glimpse of the issue and so then…
You think you have found the magic bullet in meditation…
And so you buy another meditation CD but then you never allow yourself to calm down enough to listen to it…
You go to sleep with soaking music on and still peace & results are not to be found…
And you keep searching and looking for a respite in some external thing out there…
You take to drinking a little too much alcohol in order to drown out the feelings of failure…
And then you have too much coffee to stay stimulated and alert because your natural enthusiasm and energy is waning…
You eat a little too much as well because you are emotionally cloaking yourself and protecting your mind from feeling bad…
You yell at your kids because well, they are smaller than you and become a bit of an outlet for your frustration but then the guilt kicks in and you feel worse than ever…
You start to feel like the world is against you…
Like nothing you do ever seems to work the way you want it…
And all this angst is used as a cloak to cover your real feelings up…
But the feeling is still there…
The feeling that you are missing something…
The feeling that there must be more…
The feeling that you must keep learning, consuming, absorbing until you have some epiphany…
But the epiphany is right there staring you in the face but you refuse to see it.
And this is it – I will baldly tell you!
And this is done by discipline.
Not by jumping around all over the place.
Not by allowing your emotions take over and lead you down a path where you feel horrid all the time.
And it may seem pointless because you have been taught in a system that says you have to be a worker bee and just keep plodding along, with no thought, no questions asked…
And you just want someone to tell you what to do…
But you have tried that and it aint getting you anywhere.
Yes, surround yourself with mentors, mastermind groups etc to ensure you are exposed to different levels of thinking but you too must THINK!
And it will be the hardest thing…
Because you think you are already thinking…
And you are… but what you are thinking about currently is leading you down this path of uncertainty and confusion and LACK!
What if you harnessed it for your good?
How powerful would that be!
Write out affirmations of what you want life to look like
Write out affirmations of who you choose to be…
Write out affirmations of what you choose to have…
And when you find yourself wandering…
Bring it back to writing out affirmations…
Blanketing your brain with what you can do…
Retraining your brain away from old thinking to a more powerful way of looking at life…
Calm it down deliberately by writing out affirmations, new beliefs you are choosing to take on…
The very act of writing this stuff down will cause you to calm down and see a little clearer what you are not doing and what you need to do to move forward…
And more even than the action you begin to see more clearly, is the growing certainty that you do have what it takes…
Because deep inside, you doubted you.
And because you had that inner doubt, you kept sabotaging by doing everything but the thing you knew you had to do…
Be honest now.
Busywork is not the same as productive work…
It is time to take responsibility for where your mind takes you and stop looking for some magic bullet.
