I see you…
Walking around with a cage around your heart…
You think that you have to be hard, callous, calculating in this world…
And so you hide from the world…
Because that is not who you are…
But you have been hurt…
Hurt badly…
By those who should have loved you…
Whether it was the church you attended…
Or the parents…
Or the friends who misunderstood and mistreated you…
Or the callous, calculating, hard person who lorded themselves over you, crushing your spirit…
Whatever it was, it left its mark on your heart…
And yes you overcame…
But now you protect your heart…
And on the outside, it looks like you are doing okay…
You have a good enough job/business…
And you have a smile on your face…
And you seem loving and kind…
But I look beneath the surface, beneath the veneer…
And I see the hurt…
I see where you have shut down…
I see the dreams that you want to fulfill…
The big vision of impacting people and changing lives…
The idea of being completely financially free so that you are released to really do the work you feel called to do…
But you hold back…
Because your heart is wounded…
And you think that to play that big game would mean you have to be callous, calculating…
You worry about loving money too much…
You worry about losing your relationship with Spirit…
You forget that Spirit placed the vision within you…
You forget that the vision is your permission…
You forget that if you have the vision, then you are EXACTLY the person to make it happen…
And you forget because really, you are not completely sure that Spirit loves you…
You don’t want to face that because you are scared of what you might find if you start to investigate those thoughts…
You might find that you are angry, DEEP DOWN ANGRY that Spirit watched on while you were hurt, abused, alone…
So, really, NO, you do not feel loved…
You do not hear Spirit because actually, you are not listening…
You want the facade of spirituality but not the real thing because…
You do not trust Spirit…
And you say the words, sing the songs but you do not mean them…
And it is easier to live this half-life where things seem to be okay…
Than to face the dark reality bubbling beneath the surface…
Yes, you want a big life but really, you want a safe life…
I see you, leader…
And I love you.
I see the longing beyond the fear…
The longing to be free of the fear…
The longing to feel completely loved…
So that you can do the work you DESIRE STRONGLY TO DO…
These words may hit you like a freight train because you did not even realise that all this was playing out beneath the surface…
But now you know…
