The reason why a lot of people end up in broken and failed relationships is because they simply fail to see and recognize the signs before the break-up happens. Hence, couples who are experiencing rough waters should be very sensitive and observant for these specific signs. Read on if you want to know what these are.

1. Loss of physical intimacy. Intimacy is a very important factor to a healthy relationship. It's that special connection that binds partners together. Losing physical intimacy however, can bring couples farther and farther apart without even them knowing it. This is the very reason why many relationship experts always recommend couples to go out of their way to cultivate physical intimacy and affection.

2. Emotionally aloof. When partners start being emotionally aloof, something is definitely up. Remember, being able to open yourself up to that single person is what makes him or her very special from all the others.

3. Does not talk. Communication is very important in a relationship. It keeps couples connected, even when they are physically apart for some time. Lack of communication is a sure sign of distance.

4. Does not listen. Communication is not all about talking but listening as well. Listening is a sign of interest and those that no longer listen to their partners can mean that they have lost all interest in the relationship, too.

5. Abuse. This is a very sensitive topic. Abuse should never be tolerated in a relationship - whether it's physical, verbal or in any other form. So if you experience this with your partner, then it's a sign of more bad things ahead. Do not be afraid to seek help and do what's necessary to put this to a stop.

6. Change. If he used to be extra sweet but is now extremely distant and indifferent, then there is definitely something wrong. Be very sensitive of these changes and deal with them immediately as they come.

7. Frequent arguing. More frequent argument is sure sign of trouble. Arguing itself can distance you farther and farther apart. And over the course of these disagreements, couples may do or say things that can turn a simple issue into a huge conflict.

8. Ridicule. People who mock their partners more will mean that they no longer care for their spouse's feelings whatsoever. Couples in love are supposed to build each other up instead of doing the opposite.

9. Over-control. Remember, a good partner should give you the freedom to be yourself and to live your own life. Over-controlling partners can make relationships extra difficult and thus, this can be a very obvious sign of trouble ahead.

10. Unhappy. Sometimes, it's as simple as that. When you no longer feel happy in your relationship, then something is definitely wrong. When couples become unhappy, they start spending more time on other things to fill in that empty space. And slowly, their partners become less and less of a priority as well.

Seeing these signs may mean that something is wrong but there is always hope. If you work together as couple to bring the intimacy and the closeness back, then that second chance for love is still a possibility.

The idea of making yourself more desirable by making yourself less available doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it.
