Are you a sugar junkie? Whether you want to drop a few pounds or are simply trying to live a healthier lifestyle, learning to control your daily intake of sugar will be beneficial. The following are 15 things that you should to control you sugar cravings.

  • Make a commitment. If you are going to be successful in giving up sugar, you must first make a commitment. Realize that this will be no easy task and will take some time if you body is familiar with eating sugar on a regular basis. Begin by making a commitment to stick to your goal of controlling your sugar cravings.
  • Take it slow. You won’t be able to give up that sugar craving over night. It will take time. Take it slow so that you will be successful.
  • Track what you eat. Keep a list of the food that you eat on a daily basis. Writing it down will help you keep track of how much sugar you have eaten.

  • Stay busy to take your mind off the craving. If you notice a craving coming on, get busy! Keeping active during the day will help you avoid cravings.
  • Go to bed earlier if the cravings start at night. Night time if often a difficult time for those who have sugar cravings. Choose to go to bed earlier so that you don’t have to face the cravings. You may have to change your daily schedule to beat the cravings. Going to bed earlier and getting up earlier can be very helpful.
  • Don’t give up. Many people underestimate the impact that an addiction to sugar can have on their lives. Sugar addictions are real! Choose to give up your addiction by finding ways to control your sugar cravings. It is important that you never give up. It may be difficult in the beginning but you CAN be successful.
