While several women complain about how they aren’t born with amazing lashes, others may struggle over having decent eyelashes. Think about it, we (women) love long, dark and fuller lashes because it looks amazing, right?

For some reason, apart from the regenerative hair cycle, we tend to lose a noticeable amount of the hairs. At times, this condition can be a result of the body lacking some essential nutrients required by the hair follicles.

In this article, we’ll introduce you to 2 foods that contain nutrients that will help grow lash, rapidly. Vitamins also take part in eyelash growth if you want to read more, learn more about vitamins for eyelash growth and how they work? As a bonus tip also, we’ve got a simple but effective DIY you can incorporate into your skincare regime.

Spinach is an excellent source of nutrients and antioxidants which work wonders for the eyelash follicles. For example, omega fatty 3 acid in spinach strengthens the hair roots, promotes hair growth and prevents hair fall.

Also, the magnesium present in spinach can dissolve calcium ions that are blocking the hair follicles, thereby easing the regenerative hair process. Other nutrients that can help with lash growth includes vitamin B, C, and E, and calcium.

One good thing about spinach is its sheer versatility—you can prepare it in different ways to suit your taste and liking. You can turn it into a salad, blend to a green smoothie, juice it and more—the possibilities here are almost endless.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes tend to be overlooked but got incredible nutrients that your hair follicles will thank you for. Sweet potatoes are rich in beta-carotene, an essential nutrient which the body converts to vitamin A.

Healthy levels of vitamin A is helpful and beneficial to the hair skin cells. It repairs and keeps the hair scalp moist. Deficiency of Vitamin A can cause dry, lifeless hair which plucks out easily.

Not only that, but sweet potatoes are also fat-free, low in calories and help in reducing blood sugar level. All these benefits can give you a glowing skin plus other benefits—another way to say you’re getting multiple benefits.

Home DIY also Works

You may have a specific home remedy you have been using to take good care of your eyelash, which is excellent. As you can see, these foods will complement the efficacy of your existing remedies.

For example, here is a simple but effective home DIY you can also incorporate into your lash growth routine. Before going to bed, apply the mixture of Vitamin E oil, Castor Oil, and Coconut oil to your upper lash lines. You don’t have to use the oils separately, but here is how to do it.

Get a container and mix equal amounts of the three oils (1/3 of the container for each oil).  Pour Vitamin E oil, followed by Castor oil and lastly, coconut oil and mix them. Before application, wash off your make up, and leave the oil overnight. For good results, you’ll have to do it for weeks.

Lash Growth Serum

Another great way to grow eyelashes faster is by application of eyelash serum. Apart from serum, there are several lash enhancers including the “fakes” and similar extensions which can clog or block the eyelash hair follicles.

However, eyelash growth serum contains nutrients (that are not even present in these foods) and active ingredients that will rapidly lengthen, darken and boost your eyelashes.
