After a long day at on the slopes there is nothing better than to have a piping hot meal to warm the soul. However, no one wants to spend a lot of time in the kitchen missing valuable moments with family and friends. There are three quick recipes that will please the palate and warm everyone from the inside out. For starters, a nice cup of mint hot coco is always a crowd pleaser. Then, thaw out with a bowl of beef stew or spicy chili. Below are the short and simple recipes for all three.

MINT INFUSED HOT COCO

Ingredients:

• 1 Cup per Person Metromint Chocolatemint Water

• 1 Packet per Person Instant Hot Coco – Any Brand

• Fresh Mint Leaves (Optional)

Directions:

Make the instant coco as per directions using the Chocolatemint water in place of regular water or milk. Garnish with the fresh mint.

ICE BREAKER BEEF STEW

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 To 2 Pounds Beef Stew Meat – 1 Inch Cubes

• 4 Carrots – Large And In 1 Inch Pieces

• 5 Potatoes – 1 Inch Cubes

• 2 Cups Water

• 1 Can Rotel Tomatoes

• 1 Packet Onion Soup Mix

Directions:

Add all the ingredients to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Stir to combine well then cover and cook on low for four to five hours or until everything is tender. Serve and enjoy.

FIRESIDE SPICY CHILI

Ingredients:

• 1 Pound Ground Chili Beef - Lean

• 1 Medium Onion - Diced

• 1 Can Rotel Tomatoes

• 1 Can Tomato Sauce – 15 Oz. Size

• 1 Can Dark Red Kidney Beans - Drained

• 2 Cups Water

• Chili Powder, Garlic Powder, Salt and Pepper – All to Taste

• 1 To 2 Fresh Jalapeños – Chopped

Optional for serving:

• Sour Cream

• Diced Onion

• Cheddar Cheese

• Finely Chopped Fresh Jalapeños

• Hot Pepper Sauce

Directions:

Heat a skillet on medium heat then add the ground chili beef and the diced onion. Cook the beef until it has browned and the onions have softened. Then to a large hot pot add the beef and onion mixture. To the pot, add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Allow the mixture to come to a boil then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 20 minutes to allow the flavours to combine. To serve, ladle some into a bowl and top with condiments or eat it as is.
