4 Critical Success Factors

If you’re like most people…

When you first set a goal it’s pretty easy to stay on track, right?

You’ve got a plan…you’re working the plan and your motivation is strong…

As time goes on however, you lose steam and get off-track…
So to help you stay on track, here’s 4 Critical Factors to achieving success in business and life.

When you use these 4 Critical Success Factors as your "base" with anything you strive for-- then "success" comes knocking...

1) Belief. It is absolutely crucial that you believe in what you’re doing.

Now…

This is easy at the beginning because you’re focused on what you stand to gain from achieving your goal.

As time goes on, you may gradually forget how excited you were and start to lose that inner fire.

To avoid this possibility -- keep your “vision” strong and clear in your mind. Even write it out in full detail, or create a visual reminder of images that represent your goals.

Revisit these reminders frequently – Every Day is best.

It’s always better to keep yourself pumped up than allowing yourself to become deflated and then have to pump yourself up again.

2) Self Confidence. Your confidence may be strong at the start but it can quickly fade when you encounter obstacles or setbacks.

If this happens -- remember that you once believed you had the ability to achieve your goal.

So, REMIND yourself ‘why’ you felt that way.

In fact, you may find it helpful to write these reasons down when you first set a goal, and then keep reading them back to yourself when you feel your confidence start to wane…

Remind yourself that obstacles and setbacks are temporary, but a solid belief in your-self is enough to propel you through them.

3) Motivation.

Staying motivated can be a HUGE challenge, especially once the newness and excitement of your goals have worn off and it’s beginning to feel like “work.”

Here’s the thing:

Nine times out of Ten, motivation requires a simple ‘decision’ to stay optimistic and inspired.

If your goal is truly important to you – then you’ll find ways to keep your motivation high.

Talk to other successful people who have demonstrated tenacity and gone on to achieve much. Also its good to know exactly what it is that you are going to achieve by completing the goal.

Think about what it will mean to you.

Will you have more money to travel, or a new car or a new house. Imagine what that will feel like.

Perhaps your goal is the find Mr or Mrs Right! Think about how that will feel and what it will bring to your life.

You might even be looking for better health. Picture yourself in your new cloths standing in front of the mirror.

More importantly pay attention to how you feel when you see yourself looking that good.

It’s good to do all these exercises at the beginning of the project, and write them down. That’s when you are feeling at your best, the most inspired. Then when you strike obstacles along the way you will have something that you can quickly refer back too that will re-motivate and inspire you.

4) Expect obstacles!

There’s no point in pretending that there won’t be any rough patches. If you can plan for them, then that would be awesome, but many times that’s just not possible.

So…

At least be mentally prepared for them. Remind yourself that very few goals of any real worth are achieved without at least a little bit of a hassle. That way, if you do encounter some obstacles you’ll be mentally prepared for them. And if you don’t, then you’ll be even more pleased with the result.

The more you pump yourself up, the stronger your determination and motivation will be. That always leads to success.
