MYSTICAL MAPS

Time for Exercise: 15 minutes

Properties Required: none

Steps:

Take turns describing for your lover the qualities or properties of a mystical experience you have had.

What were the properties of time and space?

Was there time travel?

Was there space travel?

Did the experience carry religious significance or meaning for you?

Did you perceive any direct contact with the divine, with God or Goddess?

Was there any contact with the dead, spirits, or ghosts?

Could you travel through matter?

Did you experience any forms of ESP (extrasensory perception), e.g., telepathy?

Did you access esoteric knowledge, wisdom, “knowing” or “seeing” in unusual ways?

Did you have an experience in which the normal boundary defining yourself was transcended, e.g., you could not tell where you ended and what used to be not-you began?

Did you feel a profound sense of love, well-being, peace, or safety?

Did you have a sense of returning “home?”

Did you have a sense that everything was complete and perfect just as it is?

Did you experience ecstasy, joy, or bliss?
