If so, then you’ve come to the right place! Even though salads are typically made to accompany the main dish, if made with the right ingredients they can steal the show!
Here are five delicious, easy and quick salad dressing recipes you can make with a variety of organic oils:
Asian sesame dressing
Perfect on top of some chopped cabbage or tossed with some steamed vegetables, this delicious Asian sesame dressing recipe is definitely one to remember!
Ingredients -
- Organic white wine vinegar x 1 tablespoon
- Organic soy sauce x 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar x 1 teaspoon
- Organic extra virgin olive oil x 1 tablespoon
- Organic toasted sesame oil x 2 teaspoons
Method -
- Grab a small bowl and add in all the ingredients.
- Give it a good mix until all the ingredients are combined.
- Then just simply drizzle the dressing over 4 cups of shredded cabbage and garnish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds or some chopped chives!
Coconut oil dressing
Coconut oil is a very versatile type of oil and is perfect in this homemade salad recipe drizzled over a big bowl of greens such as steamed broccoli, chopped tomato, halved black olives and sliced red onion!
Ingredients -
- Dried oregano x ½ teaspoon
- Organic extra virgin coconut oil (melted) x â

- Crushed garlic x 1 teaspoon
- Organic extra virgin olive oil x â

- Black pepper x ¼ teaspoon
- Sea salt x ½ teaspoon
- Fresh lemon juice x 2 tablespoons
- Organic sherry vinegar x â

- Raw honey x ½ tablespoon
Method -
- In a bowl, add in all the ingredients and then whisk it all together until completely combined.
- You can dress the salad you are making right away, but if you want to get the full amount of flavour, let it rest for at least 1 hour.
Sunflower oil vinaigrette
If you prefer more creamy salad dressings, then this sunflower oil vinaigrette recipe is for you! It is also great for making in large batches as it can last in the fridge for up to 1 week! You can also swap the sunflower oil for other organic oils such as organic extra virgin olive oil.
Ingredients -
- Sour cream x 2 teaspoons
- Organic white wine vinegar x 1 tablespoon
- Dried oregano x ¼ teaspoon
- Dried basil x ¼ teaspoon
- Black pepper x ¼ teaspoon
- Sea salt x ¼ teaspoon
- Organic sunflower oil x â

- Organic balsamic vinegar x 1 teaspoon
- Spring onion (minced or finely diced) x 1 tablespoon
Method -
- Take a small bowl and add in all the ingredients. Using a fork, give it a good whisk until all the ingredients are mixed together.
- Alternatively, add the ingredients into a food processor and blend until the mixture is pureed.
- Taste and season with some extra salt and pepper if needed.
Thai peanut dressing
This Thai peanut dressing recipe can not only be enjoyed poured over some Asian slaw, but is also delicious drizzled over grilled beef strips or served on the side as a dipping sauce for chicken skewers!
Ingredients -
- Organic smooth peanut butter x ¼ cup
- Garlic (crushed, minced or finely diced) x 2 teaspoons
- Organic peanut oil x 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper x ¼ teaspoon
- Sea salt x ¼ teaspoon
- Honey x 2 tablespoons
- Organic brown rice vinegar x 3 tablespoons
- Fresh lime juice x 2 tablespoons
- Red chilli flakes (optional) x ¼ teaspoon
- Fresh ginger (peeled and minced) x 1 tablespoon
- Organic soy sauce x 2 tablespoons
Method -
- Grab a small bowl and add in all the ingredients.
- Whisk the ingredients together until combined.
- If you notice the dressing is a little too thick, just add in a little bit of water and give it another good whisk until you get the consistency you are looking for.
Roasted garlic dressing
This roasted garlic dressing recipe is delicious when sprucing up your favourite green salad recipe or even as a yummy sauce as a pizza base! It’s a delicious way to use organic oils such as organic extra virgin olive oil or you can swap with organic sunflower oil.
Ingredients -
- Water x 3 tablespoons
- Garlic x 3 bulbs (with the tops cut off)
- Organic extra virgin olive oil x â

- Organic white wine vinegar x ¼ cup
- Honey x 2 teaspoons
- Black pepper x ¼ teaspoon
- Sea salt x â

- Dijon mustard x 1 teaspoon
Method -
- Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- Drizzle some of the olive oil over the garlic bulbs and then wrap in silver foil.
- Place on a tray and transfer into the oven. Roast between 40 and 60 minutes until it is soft.
- Once done, add the garlic into a bowl and all the other ingredients.
- Mix until completely combined, or add into a food processor and blend until smooth.
