Shaving is an essential part of a man's daily hygienic routine. It ensures that their faces are free from facial hair and makes them look very handsome and presentable. Learning how to shave is one of the rites of passage that boys undertake when they go through puberty. This is the main reason why it is very important that you know how to shave properly. You cannot just buy the best razors being praised by many electric razor reviews like the Panasonic ES-LA93-K and then immediately expect a smooth shave. Even if you have the best equipment, you cannot get a good shave unless you know how to use it properly. In order to help you, here are five tips:

Tip 1: Wash your face - before you actually start the shaving process, the first thing that you need to do is to wash your face. Washing your face ensures that you effectively remove and bacteria and dirt in your skin. This will ensure that no dirt or bacteria will be present in case you accidentally wound yourself while shaving. Washing your face with good soap and water will also prepare your skin to easily adjust to the hair removal that will take place.

Tip 2: Use shaving cream - while some people prefer not to use shaving cream because they feel they do not need it, it is still much better if you use shaving cream. This ensures that all the hair that you razor off will not stick to your skin. This results to a more efficient shaving action on your part. Aside from this, the cream also moisturizes your skin as well as disinfects it.

Tip 3: Make sure that your razor is sharp - the key to a smooth shave is a very sharp razor. This way, you will be able to remove facial hair in just one sweep of the razor on your face. It does not matter what kind of razor you get as long as its blades are sharp. If you notice that the blades in the razor that you are using are dull, you should replace the blades immediately.

Tip 4: Go against the grain - professional barbers always advise to go against the grain. This means if the hair is growing down your face, you should drag your razor against your face in an upward manner. This guarantees that your razor will cut your facial hair as close to the roots as possible. This ensures that it will take quite some time for your facial stubble to grow back.

Tip 5: Apply aftershave - to make sure that your skin pores close and to prolong the smoothness of your face, applying aftershave is a very good idea. It also helps disinfect your skin and make it smell good.
