5 Tips For Making The Perfect Coffee
Written by Gary Williamson
The Coffee Pot
Many people forget that a coffee pot should be cleaned between brews. A clean coffee pot along with clean and fresh water can make a big difference in the taste of the coffee. The residue in a coffee pot builds up and can make the coffee taste bad. Each coffee pot will need to be took apart and washed with soap and hot water to clean.Water
The water that is added to the coffee pot is also important to obtain that perfect cup of coffee. The water should be fresh water with no additives such as the enhanced waters. Tap water may not be the best water to make coffee with since it contains some impurities. Bottled or filtered water are good alternatives to use in the coffee pot to achieve a great tasting coffee.Filters
The type of filters used in a coffee maker can also make the coffee taste different. A coffee pot that uses paper filters will not have the same taste as one that uses a replacement basket with a screen on it. Some coffee filters are bleached to give them their white colour, and this could affect the taste of the coffee. These bleached filters may also be bad for someone's health if used regularly. Therefore, if the coffee maker uses paper filters, it would be better to find a natural filter or use a replacement basket instead of the bleached filters.Quality of the Coffee
The coffee that is used in the coffee pot will also make a difference to the taste. Quality coffee will improve the flavour. The coffee does not have to be an expensive brand, but the brand or type of coffee used will need to be one that improves the taste. Some of the less expensive brands may actually taste better than the more costly brands, but it might take a few pots to decide which coffee someone prefers. The Perfect Coffee
After following all of these tips, the perfect pot of coffee should be consumed immediately for the best and freshest cup of coffee. Coffee that sits on a hot burner all day will not be as great as that first cup of coffee immediately after it is brewed. Coffee that has sat there for hours will usually taste bad. It would be better to turn off the coffee pot after brewing, and then, if another cup is desired during the day, reheat the cup in the microwave or heat in a pot on the stove.Article author
