Sometimes teachers may be overloaded with the many differentnteaching strategies, teaching methods and ideas that theynare exposed to.
Please remember that since these are your students and thisnis your classroom, you are in control of the rules.
As I have told my student teachers, and new orninexperienced teachers that I have mentored; observe, if youncan, different teachers and take note of their teachingnstrategies and read about advice that experienced teachersnhave written. Then, decide which strategies are best andnwhich fit your teaching style with your students.
Here are my top "7 Essential Core Teaching Strategies" thatnhave held true for me throughout my 33 years of teachingnfrom K-6.
1. Classroom Management is the most critical teachingnstrategy. Learn to apply the some of the teaching strategiesnthat fall with this broad topic and you'll find teachingnsuccess throughout your teaching career.
Classroom Management is a broad theme that includes manynsubject areas including proper classroom behavior andndiscipline, establishing classroom rules, communicatingneffectively, and managing classroom time.

3. Motivate and encourage your students to set some goalsnfor themselves, then help them to reach their goals and movenon to a new set of goals.
4. Create a Strong Teacher Student Relationship. Trust mustnbe earned, show respect, be honest, display compassion, andnalways be positive. Let students know that they matter tonyou and hopefully they will follow suit. All this will buildnself-esteem in your students!

child, themselves, and believe it or not ... to you too.

As you progress and gain experience in our greatnprofession, I know that you will realize that using thenteaching strategies that I have briefly described here willnmake you a better teacher. Incorporate them into your dailynroutines and both you and your students will greatlynbenefit.
