Mars & Mayhem

Naked Eye Astronomy is the method used by ancient Druids and other earth people. This means I use daily astronomy and the visible star map to create accurate predicitons. Stone henges were once used to clock these occurences so everyone could witness them in a sacred manner.

Mars turned retrograde on May 11 in Scorpio-Ophiuchus. Ophiuchus is the mysterious 13th sign of the zodiac, the serpent. The snake has captured the planet of war. It will heat up that sign for almost seven months instead of the shorter seven week retrogrades. The nemesis of Aries the War God is Antares which is the brightest star in the constellation of Scorpio. A conjunction between these two rivals is indicated on June 13 2001 when they are in a 13 degree opposition. This big celestial event may be an eye opening one, changing popular beliefs and perceptions. This may inflame foreign affairs to a climatic point. We will be deeply reexamining our leaders. It will station on June 21st midsummer and the solstice. Chiron and Pluto also retrograde in Scorpio this Spring and most of this summer. Uranus stations retrograde on May 29 in Aquarius, that starts a major reevaluation of our current democracy. Nostradamus predictions about the summer of 1999 were just about inaccurate e! nough to possibly mean this summer instead and this celestial occurence. When visible planetary stations, retrogrades and oppositions occur it has an influential tide of cosmic effects on everything in the solar system.

If you are old enough to remember the cold war and the Vietnam War, then you may be psychically aware of this vibration. If you are an ex hippie, or a boomer you have Neptune in Scorpio, the planet of the unconventional, and the unconscious in a sign with psychic talent.

Half the planets are going to be in the calming nurturing ameliorating peace maker Aquarius for the res of the year, while the others languish. Hot tempered Mars, Mercury and Antares will try to out do each other. Ordinarily, retrograde periods coincide with setbacks and slowdowns, but nothing is ordinary about astrology in the beginning of this millennium... Lots of testosterone and bad drivers. All the planets from Mars outward will be transiting fire and air signs this summer. Fiery air will inflame creativity and innovative thinking for everyone, especially for Gemini's, Sagittarians, and Aquarians.

Mercury sets just a mere 2 hours after the sun, look west-northwest right after sunset. Mercury is reaching it's greatest magnitude between the horns of Taurus the Bull. Get a look at it as it peaks this month. A few remainng Aqua Aquarids meteors may still be flying after midnight look over head to make a wish.
