Winter has been a time of turning inward, reflecting and growing within. Now Spring brings the opportunity to burst forth with our energy and enthusiasm for life. Warmer temperatures and sunlit blue skies can bring a smile to anyone’s face, but no matter what season we are in or what external weather we are subject to, we can always shift our inner energy. Do you want to feel down and agitated or upbeat and peaceful? It’s up to you. You can energize yourself in any way you want.

Everything is made up of energy, which vibrates at certain frequencies. We affect the vibration of energy within us and around us. You can feel the different energy settings in various locations: a library has a quiet, serious setting while a concert has an uplifting feeling, a home will have the mood reflected by the tenants, and an office will have an energy set by the employees or perhaps directed by the management. Within our own bodies we have our energy vibrating which affects our mood as well as our surroundings.

Most of us were not raised with an awareness of our energy or how it affects our health, moods, and what we attract in to our lives. We can become aware of this now and consciously shift our energy in order to feel healthier and happier, and create the surroundings we want.

There are many ways to shift energy. The most obvious is with our bodies; moving, stretching and exercising can certainly energize us and shift our mood. Our thoughts are another way as they vibrate with energy and affect our emotions. By thinking worrisome thoughts we instantly feel anxious and fearful or by thinking amusing thoughts we feel light and playful. This affects how our bodies function, how we see the world, and because like attracts like, it determines what people, situations and circumstances we bring into our lives to match our vibration.

A more subtle, yet potent way to change our energy flow is to simply be aware of who we are, bigger than our bodies and our thoughts. From this place of ease and empowerment we automatically raise our vibration without having to think about it. By living from our center, from our true higher self, we have the power to energize ourselves and our lives in any way we want.

Here are some Insightful questions to ponder:

* What has the most affect on your mood and energy? Is it your surroundings, the people around you, circumstances or are you able to maintain your own mood and energy no matter what is going on around you?

* Periodically throughout your day, tune into your mood to see if you are vibrating at a low heavy energy setting or a higher, lighter vibration. Notice what is affecting your energy and mood, particularly if it is low (others around you, your thoughts, not being in the present moment, overusing the analytical part of your brain etc.).

* What supports you in living from your centered, peaceful self – the bigger you who can shift your energy with ease in any direction you want? What can you do to be in this state of bigness more often?

Here are some inspiring tools to try:

* Throughout your day, notice when you are not feeling happy and peaceful and use movement and breathing to shift your energy. If you have been sitting, get up and walk around or stretch. If you are frustrated or anxious, use deep calming breaths to relax, or if you are tired, use quicker breaths in and out of your nose to wake up your senses.

* Play with consciously shifting your energy and mood with your thoughts. Try thinking different thoughts to see how this affects you (start with whatever mood and thoughts you are having and then increase the vibration by thinking more positive thoughts).

* Connect more deeply to your true bigger self by closing your eyes and then bring all of your awareness into the center of your head (back from your forehead and between your ears). Let yourself move into stillness, beyond your thoughts. From this place, set your intention to increase your energy vibration to a place of lightness and joy. Let this vibration spread throughout your whole body, down to the cells and the spaces between the cells.
