<Time for Exercise: one hour

Properties Required: Buy a three-to-four foot (1.0–1.25 m) length of one inch (2.5 cm) diameter doweling or cut a section from the handle of an old implement. Gather together tidbits of colored string and construction paper, glue, earrings, jewelry, painted trinkets, small children’s toys, money (coins and bills), small figurines of people, animals or caricatures, etc.

Steps:

  1. Decorate the doweling.
  2. Offer it as a symbol of the commitment of your lingam (Sanskrit for penis) to your lover.
  3. Stand it in a corner or hang it from the ceiling of your bedroom.
  4. Swear an oath to your lover that if you decide to have sex outside your relationship, you will take the sacred lingam down. Keeping the sacred lingam in place symbolizes your sexual commitment to your lover—a gift freely and willingly offered in the name of love.
