Eight years ago, I discovered that I was going to be a mom. I remember the specific moment that intuitively I knew I had a precious, sacred soul stirring in me. I remember the overwhelming emotions of love, anticipation, excitement and hope. And I remember the strong connection I felt to my grandfather, Daddy, who passed away months earlier. It was my pregnancy, my process of becoming a mother that began my journey of self-discovery. For the first time in my life, I felt a need to ask basic questions - Who am I? What do I want for me and my family? How can I serve? It was in becoming a mom that I began to discover my own voice and purpose. Eight years ago, pregnant for the first time, Mothers Day took on a new meaning for me. I am not one to normally celebrate Hallmark Holidays. But as I thought about the mother I wanted to be, I only had to look at my mother. My mother is truly the soul of our family - an extended family of relatives and friends who live around the world. To so many people, she represents love, caring, compassion and self-less giving. I set my intent to celebrate the gifts that my mother brought to my life, and in turn, give such gifts to my daughters. Honoring our mothers is a sacred process, because in honoring them, we also honor ourselves. Not all moms are perfect - although my mom is close :) - but all moms have given a part of themselves to creation. In celebration of Mother's Day this Sunday, we want to hear your mom-related content all this week. More importantly, we want to hear all your tips, tricks and advice related to motherhood. Maybe you have a collection of important, practical advice from Mom gathered over the years that will help other people. Maybe you are a mother yourself and you want to share with other mothers how to keep your sanity in what is quite possibly the world's most difficult job! Or maybe you have a great list of earth-friendly Mother's Day gifts that will make both Mom and Mother Earth happy! Whatever you want to share, we want to hear it.nnDon't forget to tag your blog posts "motherhood" and categorize them under "Parenting & Family." I look forward to reading all your stories!
