Getting ripped off is something that I have mastered over the past few years. There has been hundreds of ways that I have found but only a dozen or so actually have convinced me to shell out my hard earned cash. What a disappointment. For the small price of usually around $50 or so, I learned the so called secrets of making an online fortune. Make a website and advertise it! $50 for that garbage. They gave me about half a novel to read before I learned that so called, secret. That is just one example of how to get ripped off online.
There are other ways to get ripped off, but online money making scams are by far my favourite. Another one was filling out online surveys. Basically I was paying a monthly fee of $19.95 to get access to a list of other websites that were just links to online surveys. They promised me the world. Easy work for about $75 per hour filling out surveys and just giving my opinion about whatever crap they wanted me too. The only problem with that is none of the surveys actually paid cash. All of them just offered points to be earned and spent towards crappy merchandise that had no practical use to me what so ever. Another thing about surveys that bothered me was the fact that I was giving out my personal information online to dozens of survey companies every day. I gave up on that scam about 2 weeks after I started it, not a penny earned and now I was and still am getting at least 5 marketing phone calls everyday. Not only did I get scammed but I explained in detail how to contact me at home.
Referrals. Garbage. I paid another $50 to learn that there are forums out there where people pay other people to sign up for some free offers. You have probably seen enough of those things out there, sign up, do a free offer, get seven other people to do this, get a free iPod or whatever other garbage they have to entice you. This is such a complete scam because the forums are full of jerks that are more than willing to rip off the newbies. I completed my first offer for someone that said they were going to give me $20 for doing it. Not too bad for ten minutes work right? Nope I had to send him an email every week for about 3 months before he deleted his account and I was unable to contact him. This happened 3 times before I quit that particular method of wasting my time and money. Another thing that bothered me about this was the fact that not only was I giving out my personal info to whatever company I had to, but I was also giving out my credit card number. Yeah, I know, I’m dumb. Anyways after I noticed the first $100 that was stolen from my card I had to cancel it.
There are many more ways to lose your money online but there are just a few of the hundreds that I have discovered and been ripped off by.
