Abraham Maslow, the famed psychologist known for his hierarchy of needs, reportedly indicated that beyond "self-actualization" at the top of his needs pyramid, was another level - he called this level 'transcendence.'

Whereas self-actualization involves realizing your personal potential, self-fulfillment, and seeking personal growth and peak experiences, "transcendence" is about helping OTHERS self-actualize.

When you transform and self-actualize, you can then help others achieve their Life Purposes. This is where the magic really begins.

Even if you already 'know' your Life Purpose, have you FULLY claimed it? In the current economic climate, people are asking themselves, "What am I made of? Do I have what it takes?" Having a strong connection to your Life Purpose leads to a strong vision. There is no competition for your Life Purpose and it thrives regardless of the economy. When you are living your Life Purpose, your life continues to expand, even if many around you are contracting.

Are you expanding or contracting - financially, physically, emotionally, psychologically, spiritually?nn#2 Make a Plan for Your Life Purpose and TRANSFORM

Whether your 'know' your Life Purpose or not, it is essential to discover it and CLAIM it. This requires making the decision that you will live your purpose as expression of everything you do, rather than backing away from it, playing it down or avoiding it altogether.

I had a client - let's call her Amy - whose Life Purpose is "Transformational Healer in the Spotlight with a Message."

She asked me about her business and financial prospects.

I said, "Well, how often are you out there speaking to live groups?"

She said, "I'm not."

We finished our session together and she said, "So, can you tell me about my business?"

I could feel her confusion. That's how denial works. We sometimes don't want to see the obvious, natural and EASY step because it can feel uncomfortable. My suggestion to her was to schedule speaking twice a month and send out her newsletter once a month by mail to begin building her ongoing dialogue with her clients. By making this plan and implementing it, she found traction, momentum and commitment to her dream. This began her transformation into the life she really wanted to live!nn#3 Live Your Life Purpose and TRANSCEND

As you continue to express your Life Purpose in all you do and all that you are, you may find that just fulfilling your own goals of a great relationship, glowing health, a nice home, etc. is NOT enough. When you set out BEFORE you have all the money, evidence, proof and support to help others, the help comes. When Don committed to working in Africa, he had no idea how to do it. Once he was there and committed to his project, the money, help and opportunities began rolling in to support his dream. But not BEFORE... AFTER he said YES to his purpose.

The formula goes like this:

"I'm confused. > Found my Life Purpose! (expand) > Living my dream life! (transform)> Helping others live their dream lives! > Transcendence!"
