If you’re afraid of flying, you don’t need me to tell you about the uncomfortable, negative effects this fear can cause. And, if you are a business traveler who is afraid of flying – but must fly anyway – you probably understand the burden and the very real cost of coping with this fear much better than I do. Now imagine how much better your life would be if you could quickly and easily remove your fear of flying; imagine what life would be like if you weren’t afraid. Let me introduce you to that possibility so you can experience it as a reality.

Here’s some statistics for you: By the year 2011, it is estimated that there will be approximately 2.75 billion air travelers each year – a number close to one-half of the Earth’s current population. Approximately 40% of all air travel is business related; which means there are over a billion people flying that don’t necessarily enjoy flying. In fact, it is estimated that between 30-40% of all air travelers suffer from some degree of aviophobia, or fear of flying. Of course, if you’re one of those who are afraid of flying, statistics don’t really matter; all that matters is that you are afraid, stressed, or uncomfortable every time you fly and you wish you could get rid of that feeling.

Well, you can; and it is easier than ever. In fact, some of you will get the message from this short article and take the couple necessary steps to overcome your fear of flying right now – on your own. It is possible for you to do that; and it’s also possible that you can do it for Free! Until recently, there has basically been three-ways to deal with fear of flying: Desensitization; Cognitive Therapy; and Pharmaceuticals. Until smoking on airplanes was banned, cigarettes were a common “remedy;” and many people still use alcohol to cope with their fears while on airplanes. None of these methods is quick, easy, inexpensive, or very effective; and, though alcohol is relatively quick and easy, there’s a good chance it could get you kicked-off the plane – and maybe even arrested.

You shouldn’t have to pay such a high-price for a fear that you didn’t “choose” to have in the first place. Cognitive therapy could take years of your time and thousands of dollars; and, it might not work anyway. Education and desensitization are typically only effective if the fear is actually based on a lack of knowledge, understanding, or experience. Oftentimes, when the fear is intense, or isn’t easily resolved, flyers resort to tranquilizing, sedating, and otherwise drugging themselves in order to survive their airborne ordeal. None of these things is necessary any longer; you now have more options and alternatives – and some of them are almost 100% effective at resolving problems like fear of flying.

The Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), along with several other new, energy psychology techniques, can be learned and used by anyone; and these techniques have eliminated problems like fear of flying, fear of public speaking, fear of water, etc, in a matter of a few minutes in some cases. To use EFT to eliminate fear of flying, you must identify your fear, create the problematic, inner emotional state by thinking about it, or imagining it, and then apply the basic EFT process to your stated fear until the intensity subsides or disappears completely. Then, if any portion of the fear emerges later, while you are flying, you can simply apply the EFT method on-the-spot to release the fear and regain control of your emotional state. EFT is quick and easy to learn; and it could free you from a lifetime of fears, phobias, and other limiting beliefs and conditions.
