One of the common misleading ideas or "myths" relating to abundance and prosperity attraction is the belief that having more money will magically create a happier, more peaceful state of mind.

I won't deny that financial abundance can definitely ease feelings of stress and frustration when it comes to paying bills, avoiding unpleasant situations with creditors, and generally feeling like your life is in balance.

However, many people approach their prosperity attraction efforts with this belief as their foundation - which is actually backwards and creates more scarcity.

Myth #2 - More Money Creates Peace and Happiness

Yes, this is a myth (or a misconception, however you want to look at it), and I'm going to explain why.

Material objects cannot "create" anything. They do not have control over your thoughts; only you do.

You may think that having more money would automatically make you feel more peaceful and happy, but that is not true for a large majority of people. Why?

Because they are in the habit of worrying and stressing about money! They may think that having more money would change their dominant thoughts, but it doesn't.

I first realized this a few years ago when I read an article about a woman who won the lottery. She was a middle-aged woman who had worked hard all her life. In the article she said how she used to worry endlessly about money, earned very little from her job and never had enough money to cover everything. Then she won the lottery jackpot, which was just over a million dollars. She took the lump sum payout, so after taxes she ended up with $400,000.00 or so. All her financial problems were solved then, right? Wrong!

In the article, she told the reporter that her life turned into something out of a nightmare. People converged on her from every direction, all wanting money - even people she didn't know. She had to move and change her phone to an unlisted number. Besides family members, friends, old acquaintances and complete strangers, she was also bombarded by investment companies, charities, and other businesses who wanted some of her money.

This woman had no experience handling large amounts of money, so she quickly spent more than she intended to. She also gave away a lot of money because she genuinely wanted to help others. Not surprisingly, within a year and half most of the money was gone. That's a sad story we've heard time and time again!

But here's what really stood out to me in the article. The woman was quoted as saying something like, "I always thought that my life would become less stressful if I had more money, but I see now that peace comes from within regardless of how much money you have."

You may be nodding your head in agreement, but do you REALLY believe that money can't buy peace or happiness? Does a little part of you still believe that more money would help you live a better life? Again, I don't deny that having more money can make it easier to pay your bills and live a fuller life in the sense that you have more options.

But many people who are trying to attract more money genuinely believe that simply *having* more money will transform their thoughts from stressed to peaceful but it will not - unless they also re-align their beliefs to support greater abundance.

It doesn't matter how much money you earn or how much money you have in the bank. If you habitually worry about money and bills, you will continue to do so even when you have more money - in fact, you will probably worry even more!

So what is the solution?

Begin transforming your thoughts and beliefs about money while you are still working on attracting it. In fact, just doing that will make it much easier for more money to come to you. The Law of Attraction delivers what you consistently think, feel, expect, and believe, remember?

Changing your thoughts and beliefs about money now will not only help you attract more abundance - but keep it around longer and feel more peaceful when it arrives.
