Peter Kingsley is the author of three books and numerous articles on ancient philosophy, including Ancient Philosophy, Mystery and Magic, In the Dark Places of Wisdom, and Reality. He has written extensively on the pre-Socratic philosophers Parmenides and Empedocles and the world they lived in.nn “We humans are not so much unfinished as unstarted.”nn His quote made me think of all the paths I haven’t taken in my life, and I wondered if any of them needed to be pursued now.nn At various times in my young life, I wanted to be a doctor, an ambassador, an actress, a lawyer, a chanteuse. I’m sure there were many more. Of them all, there’s only one I’m not at this point in my life, and that’s a lawyer. I’ve got the rest covered in my life experience.nn Truth is, I’ve always thought it would be great fun to go back to school at age 60 to get my J.
