This simple meditation brings tranquility, healing, and balance as you direct golden energy through the channels of your body, from your head to your feet and back again.

Time for Exercise: five to 10 minutes

Properties Required: none


  1. Sit comfortably with closed eyes, straight back, and relaxed body. Touch the roof of your mouth with your tongue. Leave it in this position throughout the exercise. Breathe slowly and deeply through your nose.
  2. Picture yourself floating on a soft white cloud. Slowly the cloud lifts you into the welcoming blue sky. You feel lighter than air as you float higher and higher, cradled in the cloud’s soft, fluffy arms. Directly above you a glowing sun appears. Its light shimmers down to you in cascades of molten gold, like a waterfall of liquid light.
  3. You can hear the sound of sweetly flowing water as the golden light spills over the top of your head, down to your eyes, your nose, your mouth, your chin. Down your throat, your chest, and your solar plexus it flows, bringing warmth and vitality to each cell as it passes.
  4. As the golden stream reaches your belly chakra, about one to two inches (2.5 to 5 cm) below your navel, it splits into two bright currents of light which flow simultaneously out to your hips and down the outside of your legs to your feet. Slowly the molten streams move up the insides of your legs, stroking your knees, and brushing your inner thighs. At your genitals the streams swirl about in delicious golden eddies, then join again to bathe your tailbone in a river of gold. The golden current continues up the center of your spine to the middle of your back between your shoulder blades.
  5. Here the flow of light splits again in two, flows out and down the outside of your arms to your hands. Up the inside of your arms, back to your spine between your shoulder blades, the golden streams meet again as one. On up to your shoulders, your neck and the base of your skull, and finally back up to the top of your head it rushes, a liquid lava that bathes your brain and skull in glorious light.
  6. Repeat this cycle three, six, or nine times. When you have finished your cycles, sit in stillness for a couple of minutes. Focus on your body. What do you notice?
