Whether you’re still digging yourself out of snow or you’re ready to step into a swimsuit, there’s no doubt about it. Spring is here! So toss those drab sweaters in the back of your closet and throw some spring into your style. So what if you’re just driving carpool or folding laundry? Dressing in style makes you feel confident and shows that you approach your job as a mom with a can-do attitude. Here are some easy ways to make this season’s style work for you.

No More Waist Away
For so long in fashion, a woman’s waist was nowhere to be seen. Finally, the waist is back (you know, the real waist). Instead of waistlines hitting right around your hipbones, skirts and pants are now cinching in the middle. And nothing shows off the waist like a cute belt over a longer tee or tunic. Pick up some of the new slim ones in all colors. Pair up a belt with some coordinating shoes and you’ve turned a simple jeans-and-tee outfit into a fashion statement.

Color Me Happy
Spring colors have never been so bold and bright as they are this season. Look for some awesome shades like pale green, orange, lavender, lemon yellow, and a poppy red. Consider some cropped button-up short-sleeved sweaters in some of these happy shades to instantly brighten up your wardrobe. And don’t be afraid to mix and match and toss all together. Ballet flats or a cute little bag in a mixture of colors can easily pull an entire outfit together.

Gotta Be The Shoes
Some of the cutest shoes this season come in flats (fortunately for us moms). Look for things in metallic shades like bronze or silver. Pair these with some bold jewelry and you are one hot mama! Also be on the lookout for embellished sandals—sequins, cording, even stones!

Get a Leg Up
Blue jeans are a staple in every mom’s wardrobe. Thank goodness, this season we are moving away from skin-tight skinnies and embracing a more lived-in look. The lines are still fitting, but they are no longer cutting off the circulation. If you don’t like the look of something tight underneath your dresses and longer tops, then you’ve got to check out the new leggings in every shade under the sun.

The one thing we can all do this season is quit shying away from fashion. Go ahead—embrace some color, go for some boldness. It’s time to step out in style!
