Sgt. Major Shon Brodie, U.S. Marine Corps, retired, is an entrepreneur, professional trainer and founding partner of Saber Leadership. Shon has more than 20 years experience in developing leaders and teams. He excels in organizational and personal leadership development and team building, and is recognized as an outstanding communicator and presenter.
Shon is an expert in the areas of operations management, employee evaluation, customer service and coaching. Since launching his professional training career, Shon has developed a series of powerful workshops and programs that create awareness and can generate positive behavioral change in an organization. Using timeless principles and entertaining techniques, Shon equips leaders with the interpersonal skills needed to transform human potential and organizational value.
Shon has delivered training, coaching and consulting to thousands of people around the world. Clients span several industries including federal and local government, financial services, manufacturing, transportation, staffing, aviation and education.
Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Shon was a career U.S. Marine. He served all over the world in peace and conflict. His diverse assignments include Drill Instructor and teacher with the Marine Corps University. Shon also enjoyed tours with the U.S. State Department, various Marine Special Operations Commands and Marine Recruiting. One of his many responsibilities included directing Toys for Tots— one of the nation’s largest holiday outreach programs, which provides toys to underprivileged children in the holiday season— for 26 counties in northern Virginia. Under his direction, the program collected and distributed a national record number of toys in 1998 and 1999. Shon also worked in the Marine organization responsible for planning and executing logistics for military training exercises and operations throughout the Asian Pacific Rim, Indonesia and Australia from 1995-1998. Shon served as a Command Sergeant Major for the final four years of his career, which included participation in the assault on Baghdad, Iraq.
Shon and wife Theresa have four children and live in Fredericksburg, Va. Shon enjoys reading, hiking, biking, canoeing and coaching youth sports.
