"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification"
Romans 14:19

Real change begins with you! There’s never been a truer statement. If you want change in your relationships, start with you. You are the only one you have total control over. Many of our circumstances and situations revolve around our reactions. In disagreements with our loved ones, we can choose to walk away, discuss it openly or completely stop talking. When our children stress us out, we can decide to yell until we’re blue in the face, spank or calmly explain what we expect of them. When we feel like we have lost ourselves and are not living up to our potential, we can choose to find us again and get back on track or stay right where we are and complain. Remember the choice is always yours.

Choose anger or choose joy
Choose confusion or choose peace
Choose to suffer or choose to survive
Choose fear or choose courage
Choose pain or choose healing

The Choice Is Yours.

“It is not only for what we do that we are held responsible, but also for what we do not do.”

—Jean-Baptiste Poquelin Moliere

Author's Bio:

Inspired by the now- defunct reality television show Starting Over, a show that featured the struggles of regular women and their journeys to get there while being guided by life coaches, the seed for Tiya Cunningham-Sumter’s pursuit of a career as a life coach was planted in 2003. She knew that, as a person who has always reveled in excitement at the thought of seeing others happy, this was the career for her. Friends and family would say that she has always been their “unofficial” life coach, offering words of encouragement and motivation to help them reach their goals.

As the founder and sole practitioner of her own coaching establishment, Life Editing, in Chicago, Ms. Sumter conducts life coaching sessions and workshops for a variety of clients, including married couples, families, career-driven individuals and others. The Life Editing concept is about rewriting your life to reflect your dreams. Also in the works for Sumter and Life Editing is an inspirational book for couples.

Mrs. Sumter has been happily married for 10 years to college sweetheart Kenneth Sumter. The couple met in 1990 and married in 1998. Kenny and Tiya have been blessed with two daughters, Kyler and Kelsi.

Sumter is a member of Family of Faith Community Church, where she is the Director of the Women’s Ministry.
