Tired of your belly bulge? Frustrated with all the failed diets?

New discovery links the US Food Supply to our Weight Gain!

There is a new epidemic. Growing numbers of “healthy” people are complaining of unexplained weight gain, belly fat, hormone problems, lack of energy, chronic pain, insomnia, digestion problems, allergies, low immune function, fibromyalgia, arthritis, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, bone loss, hair loss, low libido, as well as an array of other symptoms. These are often attributed to stress, age or just being “out of shape.”

It has been discovered that in many cases, these symptoms could be caused by endocrine (hormone) system imbalances. The endocrine system consists of many glands, like the thyroid gland, that send and receive messages. The various hormones carry the message. When there is proper hormone communication between the brain and the rest of the body, we have a healthy and balanced endocrine system. However, your hormones and the messages they carry, can easily become disturbed and confused by many factors. This confusion, and the break in communication it causes, can create a wide variety of chronic symptoms, including slow, consistent weight gain.

Within the endocrine system, normal hormone communication starts in the brain with the pituitary gland, where hormones are released into the blood stream. From there, they travel via the blood, to various glands to “turn-on” function. The gland then sends a reply message back to the brain via the blood stream acknowledging that the message was received. This communication line is where the trouble starts.

Toxins and poisons in our environment and food cause a breakdown of communication by preventing our body’s hormones from getting messages to the glands to do their job. The EPA reported that certain pesticides, chemicals and other substances may modify the normal functioning of human and wildlife endocrine (hormone) systems. The EPA calls them endocrine disruptors because these substances disrupt endocrine (hormone) communication. They basically block the messages from getting to the body’s glands. If the gland doesn’t get the message, it doesn’t know what to do. This results in the body not working correctly.

Now think for a moment of what happens in your body when these endocrine (hormone) disruptors block messages that are vital for good health and function. They trick your body into thinking they are the real hormone, but they are not. This causes the communication to stop. It’s kind of like what happens when you lose cell phone service; you talk and get no response. You start speaking louder and louder, repeating yourself, and it gets very upsetting, right? This gets you frustrated because you have lost communication.

Well, your body’s glands and organs get upset when they don’t get a response to a communication. Over time, functional problems arise and it affects your entire body. This will show up as weight gain. What’s even more interesting is that this malfunction will not show in your blood work until it gets really bad. So, you can have subtle symptoms, like unexplained weight gain, and your lab results come back as normal. In Oriental Medicine, we have tools to evaluate your body’s functions without the use of lab work. These ancient techniques were designed to evaluate the body’s systems BEFORE disease sets in; which makes it much easier to correct the problem.

Doesn’t it make sense that the issue of stubborn weight could lie in our food supply, considering the damaging effects of pesticides and other food related chemicals? This made sense to me, but I wanted to find out first-hand how this would affect my own body. Several years ago, I stumbled across an advanced acupressure technique that is based on the ancient practice of Oriental Medicine. When I first started working with it, I worked specifically with my thyroid gland to address the gradual weight gain I was experiencing. My genetic history was leading me down a path to severe obesity and early death. I didn’t want to go in that direction and knew I had to do something before it became uncontrollable.

The concept of a sluggish thyroid was new to me, but I could see the connection to weight issues and hormone communication. According to Oriental Medicine, this would result in stagnation. Stagnation is simply an area of the body that has reduced energy and blood flow. This results in gland or organ malfunction and eventually disease.

So I worked on my own thyroid to test the technique. During the initial series of treatments, the weight gain stopped! As a bonus, a life-long issue with constipation was resolved!

I continued to work on improving my health, and now, at 46, I have gone from a size 16 (I really needed a size 18, but was refusing to go up a size AGAIN) to a size 8. I’ve never been a size 8; as a teenager I struggled to stay a size 9! I have sustained this for the past 2 years and I’m still amazed and still shrinking. I feel better than I have in my entire life and I eat what I want and never get hungry or feel deprived.

I was so excited to finally find a solution to my weight issues that I launched a local talk radio program called Burn Fat Talk Radio on WTAN 1340AM or online at www.BurnFatTalkRadio.com. I am passionate about bringing this life-saving information to the public and invite you to listen in, or you may attend a FREE class.
