Truth, the saying goes, is stranger than fiction, and I am witness to that in my own life and from the thousands of stories that I have heard from people over the last thirty years that I have practiced as a counsellor, a coach and an Emotional Fitness trainer.
If you believe that your life is mundane and devoid of any excitement or drama, and that you have to get your entertainment from external sources, take another look at what goes on inside you. If you peer closely enough you might just discover a wealth of thoughts, bizarre ideas, plans, hopes, fantasies that could never be portrayed on screen or in a book and be believable.
The unbelievable thing to me is that we don’t get it that we all have such imaginations, because we are seldom courageous enough to be open about them.
Magic occurs when we are prepared to explore that which lies within and are able to accept and use our own experiences to make progress. Instead of listening to “personal growth gurus” tell their stories over and over again, isn’t it time we discover our own stories and become our own gurus?
In peace
