I find many skeptics, when it comes to accepting people with psychic powers, are really cowards at heart. I should know, I use to be one. In fact skeptics don't trust their hearts, their allegiance is primarily to their rational or intellectual mind. When this is the case, any non-ordinary experience or idea that threaten their rational mind will be immediately dismissed without giving these non-ordinary experiences and ideas further rational thought.

If you are one of those people, you are reading the words of a former skeptic, a man whose only allegiance was to his rational mind. I was trained to be a person who possessed strong intellectual skills. As a consequence of my training, when people came into my life who demonstrated psychic abilities, I did everything in my power to convince them otherwise. While I won many intellectual wars, the personal evidence in my life, about the validity of people with psychic powers, became too overwhelming for me to continue to ignore.

I was caught between a rock and a hard place. I didn't believe in psychics power on the intellectual level and yet my personal experience with psychics proved to me over and over again that my rational mind was wrong. This caused a lot of conflict in my life because I wasn't about to give up my allegiance to my logical way of thinking without a fight.

In the end, I was able to use my intellectual ability to validate for me subjectively that the "psychic gift" is real. Granted, not all people who profess to be psychics have this ability. There are many psychics, in this world, who are con artists. They claim to have psychic powers primarily as a way to make money or take advantage of weak minded people. I not saying there is anything wrong with making money using one's "psychic gifts". I am just saying money shouldn't be a psychic's primary reason. A genuine psychic always puts the needs of his or her clients first and money second.
