A bit of advice to turn your Chicago office into a paper-free office
Written by Emilee Jaden
In every office there is someone who is obsessed with the latest tech and the one in ours predicts that our office is going to become a paperless office, an eco-aware office that doesn't even use paper for post-it notes. At present we don't know if this is going to come true but any office can cut back on paper and reap all of the benefits.
There is more than one reason why a Chicago office should cut back on paper consumption, firstly the obvious eco-benefits, then the cost and also because paper is perhaps not the most secure way to hold confidential and private data.
So if you are considering relocating to a new Chicago office then here are some tips to make that office a modern and paperless office, thanks to www.office-suites.com.
1) Firstly, find out where the closer Chicago recycling facility is. As a manager you need to work out where the recycling facility is and how to get there from the office. You should also look into organising a collection service, as from your Chicago office it could be quite a distance to the plant.
2) Secondly, you should use electronic messaging rather than paper letters. One of the most effective ways to cut back on your office paper consumption is to use IT based messaging to to connect with other staff instead of sending letters or memos. This will not only reduce office costs but will also make workers more productive as they won't be wandering around the office passing on letters but instead can just click the button and in seconds the email is sent.
3) Marketing materials, jou
als and even the daily papers can all be received electronically, so there is no need to have paper copies. This is the case as using paper to make magazines is perhaps the most inefficient use of paper that there has ever been. This is the case as the majority of the time magazines or papers will just end up in the trash, so it is just like throwing money in the bin. Also if you subscribe to an electronic version of a magazine you will then be able to utilise those articles more easily in presentations and reports.
4) Use an office white board for making notes. You office employees will need a place to make notes and usually this is on a yellow post-it but in a reduced paper office you might want to think about using a whiteboard and using that. A whiteboard can be used and reused many times and is a good way to brainstorm with your workers and flesh out some of their ideas. As a result a whiteboard is a great way to cut back and minimise the sheets of paper that are used in your office. So if you have made the move to Chicago office space from www.office-suites.com, then you should go to the nearest shop and buy a whiteboard.
5) Finally, paper-free doesn't just mean cutting back on A4 it can mean so much more. It also means using an air heater to dry your hands in the bathroom rather than paper towels and by using reusable mugs rather than throw away paper cups. There is an endless list of things to do to reduce the consumption of paper, it could even be as simple as designating a corner of the office for the proper disposal of paper.
Quite recently one of our associative firms made the move to a Chicago office and they really made the most of the change to implement new procedures regarding the use of paper. This saved them a lot of money and even made their workers more efficient with office equipment.

Why Some Buildings Just Feel Safer—And What’s Behind It
Sometimes, it’s not what you see, but what you feel. Ever notice how some buildings just feel solid? No creeping unease. No instinct telling you to check for the nearest exit. Just a quiet, unshakable sense that you’re in a place built to protect. That feeling isn’t random. It’s the result of smart choices—ones made long before anyone steps inside. The materials, the design, the way everything is built to handle the unexpected, even factors like fire ratings that determine
