A Brief History Of OLAP Server

It came in effect after Edgar F. Codd, popularly known as father of the science of relational database, who gave it the name OLAP or ONLINE ANALYTICAL PROCESSING SERVER. This resulted out of Edgar F. Codd papers which emerged out of a brief conversation of consulting assignment undertaken by cord from the earlier arbor software later known as Hyperion solution later acquired by oracle in 2007. All these resulted out of marketing tie ups. Arbor software had already launched its product of OLAP server or ONLINE ANALYTICAL PROCESSING SERVER a year ago which was names ESSBASE.
Edgar F. Codd’s twelve points on OLAP server or ONLINE ANALYTICAL PROCESSING SERVER were really very particular regarding the reference to the product of arbor product which is ESSBASE. This incident brought some real controversies in the information technology world and when it came to light that Edgar F. Codd s paid by the Arbor software, the whole computer world reacted on this article.
OLAP Server or ONLINE ANALYTICAL PROCESSING SERVER saw a huge leap in the growth chart during the period of 90s when the commercial market started growing with the huge inflow of the commercial products. The Bill gates firm popularly known as Microsoft played an important role in commercializing the OLAP or ONLINE ANALYTICAL PROCESSING SERVER product. The first OLAP server or ONLINE ANALYTICAL PROCESSING SERVER product of Microsoft was launched in 1988 known as Microsoft analysis service, which opened the gates of server or ONLINE ANALYTICAL PROCESSING SERVER technology and initiated its adoption to a wide scale commercialization.
