Good food is essential to Man’s wellbeing and longevity. In fact in the Bible ,reading from Genesis 1:27-29 , we have an idea how important food is to God.
Gen 1:27 God created human beings in His own image; in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them
Gen 1:28 God blessed them and said to them ‘Be fruitful and increase, fill the earth and subdue it, have dominion over the fish in the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves on the earth.’
Gen 1:29 God also said, ‘Throughout the earth I give you all the plants that bear seed, and every tree that bears fruit with seed: they shall be yours for food.{The REB}.
From the above excerpts, we see that on the 6th day of creation God did three exceptional things:
1. He created Man in His image and likeness
2. He blessed him and empowered him to carry out his assignment
3. He provided him with what he would eat.
It is not by any coincidence that eating a diet that is nutrient rich will definitely boost ones immunity, thus keeping at bay ill-health. In fact, I recently read that almost all of the diseases Man faces today could be prevented by eating right.
If you have a chronic condition, a carefully planned diet can make a difference. With certain diseases, what you eat may reduce symptoms. In other cases, diet can improve health. For example, eating a healthy diet can help lower high blood pressure; this reduces the risk of both heart attack and stroke. Even if someone does not have high blood pressure, eating a heart-healthy diet reduces the chance of heart disease in the future.
The real challenge these days is finding nutrition rich food. And when found, whether it will be affordable. Our health experts have advised us to consume this and that portion of vegetables a day, but the truth is that most of the vegetables and fruits available have been preserved and treated with one chemical or the other, while the rest have been modified so that they can be available in all seasons and bring in profit.
The good news is that we have now made such great leaps in food science and nutrition that there are so many products available at very affordable prices. I personally am so grateful to God for this breakthrough and I will share with you why.
Months after the birth of our 3rd child, my wife was diagnosed with anaemia and high blood pressure that was so bad that she had to report to the GP every week. The GP was really concerned, but was reluctant to put her on medication as this posed a risk to the baby. Fortunately, a friend introduced us to a food supplement, which could not be bought in the market. A couple of days on the product, and my wife’s energy levels went through the roof. After a couple of weeks, her blood pressure normalised . I was so impressed that I took a closer look and found out that people with various health challenges ranging from autism, depression, diabetes, arthritis and even cancer had had positive results with these products.
I asked the company hierarchy why they were getting such fantastic results and I was told that they in fact do not claim that their products are a cure for anything, but the truth is that if the body is given the right nutrients, it has the capability of healing itself over time.
Sourcing Great Food Supplements
When shopping for supplements, I would recommend you look for the following
1. Bioavailability. To be effective, nutrients must be in a form that is readily absorbed by the body. This ensures quick, optimal absorption for improved efficacy.
2. Synergism. In nature, nutrients don’t exist in isolation. Working together, the nutrients strengthen one another and provide greater health benefits than they would individually.
3. Guaranteed Quality Ingredients. Ensure that every can certifies that the ingredients come from the most reputable suppliers and undergo rigorous testing. Product should also come with a money back guarantee.
4. Optimal Nutrition. Product should go beyond minimum daily requirements as researchers have shown that higher levels of key nutrients are essential to good health and well-being.
In conclusion, Napoleon Hill famously wrote: You know what to feed your automobile for good service; now learn what to feed yourself for good health.
