A Checklist for Proper Wordpress Website Maintenance

- NEVER forget the backup: Easily one of the most important things to do is to take backup. And not just of the website, but of the database as well. Make a daily backup routine as well and make sure that all the content, files, media, and more are backed up securely. Why? Because in case of a cyber-attack, hacking, etc. or perhaps server failure — the business is protected and won't be compelled to be offline for a prolonged duration.
- Review security: WordPress websites are one of the favorite targets for hacking attempts and other forms of cyberattacks owing to their sheer prevalence. Hence, it is imperative that you not only leverage all the provisions WordPress has to offer to ensure top-notch security for the website but also to review these provisions on a very regular basis and also scan the website for any potential threats.
- Content audit: Since your website's ranking on Google and general health on the interwebs is directly related to the content on it; one must be sure to do an extensive review periodically. Add or update keywords, fix broken links, add new content, etc. — all of this goes a long way to optimize the website.
