The Honda Civic Type-R had built a decent reputation for itself but, unfortunately the production of new Type-R has been stopped because it does not meet the new Euro 5 emissions law. Honda seem to have taken this well, probably because their focus has now moved to producing low emissions and hybrid vehicles. If you really want a Type R you can get hold of them at Honda used cars Dartford dealership.

The Honda CR-Z is Honda’s sporty hybrid; it’s a very nice looking car with futuristic looks. Either we are getting use to the look of hybrid cars or hybrid cars are starting to look like traditional cars because, looking at the CR-Z you cannot instantly tell that it is a hybrid. Its 3 door hatchback body shell also makes it look like a hot hatch rather than a low emissions car.

Now, MUGEN Euro has announced that it will be developing a highly-tuned version of the Honda CR-Z, which will deliver "Type R-like" performance from the hybrid's petrol-electric power train - and may even result in even better fuel economy. More power, less fuel consumption, result!

The MUGEN tuned CR-Z will be on show at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2011. MUGEN has made enhancements to both the engines in the CR-Z, 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine and the Honda IMA system have both been modified to boost power and torque. To help improve the chassis dynamics bespoke brakes and suspensions components have been added. Final power, torque and fuel economy figures are not yet known.

Hiro Toyoda of MUGEN Euro said, "We wanted to extend the performance of the CR-Z. car to drive, with an excellent chassis, but we thought that with more power and enhanced torque delivery it could be even more exciting. However, as with all MUGEN projects, we have stayed true to the Honda design and philosophy, and the electric motor is still a vital ingredient to boost performance and economy."
